Who you are
- Proven track record of leading event planning and execution, ideally in B2B tech or SaaS, with a portfolio showcasing successful experiential events
- A strategic mindset with the ability to plan, execute, and measure high-impact events
- A creative, out-of-the-box approach to event design and experiential marketing
- Strong project management skills, able to juggle multiple events and deadlines without ruffling feathers
- Experience working with event platforms, marketing automation tools, and CRM systems
- A passion for building community and crafting meaningful, educational, and fun experiences for technical audiences
- A “get it done” attitude with a love for fast-paced, scrappy environments
What the job involves
- At MotherDuck, we believe events should be more than just gatherings—they should be unforgettable experiences that build relationships, spark ideas, and leave people quacking about them. We’re looking for an Event Marketer to lead the charge in creating high-impact, creative, and engaging events that elevate our brand and bring our community together
- Plan and execute first-party events—from brand-building conferences to intimate dinners, lively parties, hands-on workshops, and technical meetups
- Drive sponsorships and activations at key industry conferences, ensuring MotherDuck makes a splash in all the right places
- Design event experiences that balance education and fun, keeping our technical audience engaged while making sure every event is memorable
- Experiment with unorthodox and unexpected event strategies to elevate our brand through experiential marketing. If there's a quirky, standout way to make an impact, we want you to find it!
- Collaborate across teams (marketing, sales, developer relations, product, engineering) to align event strategy with business goals and ensure we’re engaging the right audiences
- Manage event logistics from start to finish—venue selection, vendor negotiation, speaker coordination, and seamless onsite execution

Our take
In the increasingly complex landscape of data analytics, the challenges faced in managing and extracting meaningful insights from large datasets are on the rise. Conventional approaches, often involving distributed architectures and petabyte-scale data solutions, can be cumbersome, expensive, and less user-friendly for the majority of users who do not operate at such a large scale.
MotherDuck, recognizing this issue, has emerged as a solution provider with its serverless, user-friendly data analytics platform. Leveraging the power of the open-source database DuckDB, MotherDuck aims to simplify the scale-up approach to SQL analytics, offering a faster, more cost-effective alternative for the 95% of analysts who do not require petabyte-scale data solutions.
Recently securing funding, the company is now well-positioned to further enhance its platform and expand its user base. As MotherDuck continues to collaborate closely with the DuckDB team and integrate user feedback for enhancements, the company is also poised to play a pivotal role in the evolution of serverless data analytics.
