Role
Who you are
- You are outgoing: Needs to be comfortable with talking to strangers and approaching people in public surroundings, talking about HOLY and our brand. Should be confident in selling and have a good gut-feeling in reading the room/people
- You have hands-on mentality: Shouldn’t shy away from being hands-on and being a pragmatic problem-solver. Challenges in the day-to-day will include that will require creative thinking and quick solutions
- You are structured: Supporting different stakeholders, this role requires an organized person that keeps a good overview of their tasks and priorities. Ideally has prior experience in Notion (not mandatory)
- You are a strong team player: Proactive, supportive team member with a positive attitude, high integrity, and a strong desire for continuous learning and growth
- You are fluent in both English and German
- You are available for 4-6 Months
What the job involves
- As the Venture Development Intern, you'll support the Retail Team by supporting key projects and driving important initiatives
- You'll collaborate across retail business development, marketing, and sales teams, playing an integral role in our retail expansion
- You'll report to our Sr. Venture Development Manager, Joanna, who—along with Ben, our Director of Retail & Omnichannel—is leading our retail expansion
- In this role, you'll have a front-row seat to HOLY's next growth lever and play a crucial part in our next growth phase
- You will contribute to HOLY's retail expansion, from conducting in-store tastings to strategically supporting new retail product launches
- You will assist with crucial company initiatives, such as our quarterly goal-setting process, helping to foster a values-led, lean, and agile team
- You will engage in retail project management, supporting the retail team by coordinating workstreams across sales, marketing, and operations. This can include customer research, meeting support, activation preparations, and order management
- You will support multiple teams, assisting with ongoing projects and providing ad hoc support ranging from analytical research to hands-on activities

- Getting to know you: We will have a 30-minute screening interview with Luca where we will talk to you more about HOLY and the position and see if our expectations match
- Case study: As soon as you have successfully completed the first interview, you will receive a case study
- Advanced discussion: In the second meeting, Joanna will discuss your case study with you and answer questions on-site, in our office
- Founder interview: As a strong cultural fit is important to us, you will have a final meeting with one of our HOLY Founders. This gives both you and us the opportunity for a final check
- Job offer and decision: If everything goes well, you will receive an offer and we are ready to embark you this journey together with you!
- Typically this process should take around 2 weeks
Our take
The soft drinks industry is big business, estimated to reach a value of over $600 billion by 2030. However, many of the biggest brands are full of unhealthy and unethically sourced ingredients that are not in line with the push for more sustainable products. HOLY is a German company that wants to disrupt the soft drink industry with healthier and more ethically sourced alternatives.
HOLY’s two flagship products are its energy drink and iced tea. With sugar and taurine-free ingredients, the products come in powder form which saves 90% on packaging and significantly decreases the amount of CO2 emissions from manufacture and transport compared to canned drinks.
As with many soft drinks, HOLY’s branding is key. Its vivid designs and online presence increase its appeal for the gaming community, who would typically lean toward large competitors such as Monster Energy. With good funding at its back, HOLY is on the right path to compete with well-established rivals, having sold more than 10 million drinks solely via its online marketplace.
