Engineering Manager, SmarterDx

• 12+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years as an engineering manager
• Expertise running an agile process (preferably Kanban) for a team and fluency with the agile toolkit
• Experience working with product managers and end users to structure requirements into user stories
• Experience in Python and Typescript or modern Javascript
• Familiarity with React
• Experience with one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL
• Deep experience designing and implementing microservice architectures, especially on Kubernetes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience working at startups, especially in the health tech space

• We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who’s eager to take on a true player-coach role
• This is a backend-leaning full stack role where you’ll split your time between coding and managing a high-performing team of full stack engineers. In doing so, you will play a pivotal part in refining our analytics platform, optimizing performance, and enhancing security and scalability
• Analytics Enhancement: Refine our analytics engine to extract more nuanced insights from patient records, leveraging proprietary tools and advanced statistical methods
• Performance Optimization: Streamline recurring calculations, enhancing data transmission and storage methods to facilitate in-depth analysis at each stage of our analytics pipeline
• Architecture Refactoring: Improve our architecture to be more maintainable, testable and cost-effective
• Security Integration: Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) across our suite of organizational applications using a federated login solution
• Testing Framework Development: Develop and integrate a regression testing framework into our analytics stack, ensuring robustness and reliability
