Who you are
- Bachelors in a related-field preferred (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering)
- 1+ year of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Desirable
- Coursework, projects, or internship experience involving AI/ML or LLM-driven applications
- Contributions to open-source projects, hackathons, or personal side projects
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
What the job involves
- Are you interested in building an AI operated autonomous fleet and depot operating system? Moove AV is looking for a Software Engineer to join the founding engineering team building a brand-new, greenfield platform for autonomous mobility operations, powered by GenAI, LLMs, and real-time visual intelligence
- Deliver code enhancements, refactors, and new features for the team's software, working independently between regular checkpoints such as code reviews and daily standups
- Take well-understood feature specifications and turn them into working, production-ready code
- Build an understanding of the business and customer value behind the software you work on, and communicate your progress and trade-offs clearly to your team
- Structure code into multiple reusable, quality components, seeking guidance from teammates or your manager on multi-component problems, and consistently improve by incorporating code review feedback
- Collaborate with peers across the full software development lifecycle: scoping, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance
- Participate in operational support and troubleshooting for your team's software, including issues in code you didn't author, working to identify and resolve root causes
- Communicate your progress and trade-offs clearly to your team, and build trust by delivering work efficiently and reliably

Our take
In many African countries, cars serve as the primary mode of transportation, yet car ownership rates remain significantly lower than those in the US and Europe. A major obstacle exists in the form of limited access to financing for individuals, companies, and small businesses seeking to acquire the vehicles necessary for their mobility needs.
Moove has set out to confront this challenge by offering revenue-based vehicle financing solutions to ride-hailing app drivers. In partnership with Uber, Moove operates in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya and has began expanding into Latin America. Unlike traditional car loans, Moove's financing model links an Uber driver's repayments directly to their work volume and revenue generation, providing customers with increased flexibility in managing their repayments.
Within its first year of operation, Moove facilitated 1.4M million trips using vehicles financed through its innovative approach. The company continues to expand its presence across West Africa, and acquired Kovi to support entry into the Latin American market. The company was itself acquired by Netradyne in 2026, which supports Netradyne's accelerated growth plans in Europe.
