Who you are
- Effective prospecting, discovery best practices, radical adherence to data hygiene, timely follow up, work ethic, accountability, and ambition will all be key features of the team, and in turn should be qualities you possess to set a strong example
- We are seeking individuals who have demonstrated success in startup sales in SaaS or services-focused companies. You bring a thoughtful approach to every interaction and you can solve complex problems operating independently
- Located in the San Francisco Bay area and able to be in office 3x per week
- 2+ years of sales management experience (ideally fintech or financial services)
- Proven track record of success, creating pipeline, quota attainment, and over-achievement
- Highly organized and detailed with an eye towards process
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience with prospecting tools like Clay, Sales Navigator, Crunchbase, and ABM tools like 6sense or DemandBase are a plus
What the job involves
- The majority of Pilot Account Executive’s are inbound. The Scale Team is Pilot’s outbound arm, and consists of a range of sales motions that aren’t fully inbound. They include: cold outbound outreach, attending events, ABM, partner development, resurecting old leads in the database, and more
- As a Sales Manager of Pilot’s Scale Team, you'll be responsible for meeting sales targets through hiring and coaching your team of AEs. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, ensuring coordinated efforts with our marketing, partner development, outsourced SDR, and RevOps teams
- Consistent achievement of quarterly team sales goals and daily/weekly/monthly KPIs
- Day-to-day management of 4-6 Account Executives
- Coaching to a framework from pipeline creation to close
- Hiring to meet headcount goals
- Motivating your Account Executives to learn and grow to prepare them for their next sales roles
- Understand and own the information regarding Pilot’s numerous financial service offerings
- Work cross-functionally with our solutions, marketing, product, and finance teams—echoing the voice of the customer and providing constructive and actionable feedback to the team
- Work collaboratively to build and iterate day-to-day processes within the role

Back office operations such as bookkeeping are an unwelcome distraction and expense for businesses, but they don't have to be. Pilot is the largest provider of back office services for startups and small businesses in the US, aiming to take care of a company's back office so they can focus on their core activities.
Founded in 2016. Pilot has attracted an impressive range of customers including Bolt, r2c and Pathrise. The company's proposition is more than just bookkeeping software, providing services that would ordinarily be provided by a fractional chief financial officer. This empowers small businesses and startups to make better budgeting and spending decisions without the need of an expensive finance department hire.

Going forward Pilot aims to be to startups and medium-sized firms what AWS is to cloud computing - a comprehensive, easily scalable solution that prevents the need to reinvent a necessary but non-core function from scratch. With rapid revenue growth and significant financial backing from investors, it is well poised to achieve this.
