Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of relevant experience across agencies and start-ups
- A portfolio of outstanding and diverse design work for multiple clients and organizations
- Experience and prowess in communications design, product-design best practices, photography curation and motion graphics direction
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Print design (especially packaging design) experience
- Exceptional candidates will have experiential/event design experience
- Ability to deliver high-level work at pace, context switch, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Positive, collaborative attitude and drive
- A high tolerance for slack channel proliferation
What the job involves
- Mill’s Creative Team is looking for a Senior Designer / Art Director with fluency across a wide spectrum of communication design channels
- This role will be responsible for core brand and visual design work as well as concept development and on-set art direction
- You’ll be instrumental in bringing the brand’s visual identity to life; concepting and designing high-performing work across many channels including traditional advertising, performance marketing, email, social, internal and external communications, packaging, physical activations and more
- Design and deliver creative executions across various mediums: performance marketing, lifecycle, print, OOH, social, physical activations, landing pages and more
- Distill complex information into accessible, engaging design deliverables
- Create visual materials to enable product launches across marketing, lifecycle and product surfaces
- Support internal and external teammates in design executions across motion graphics, infographics and photographic art direction and retouching
- Create mood boards and concept decks to support creative campaigns
- Support leadership team with presentation designs for external communications
- Work collaboratively with a set of cross-functional partners and stakeholders
Our take
Wasted food and its decomposition do more for CO2 emissions globally than the entire airline industry combined. Whilst food waste bins run by local councils in the US do redirect the majority of food waste to recycling plants, there are still holes to plug, which is exactly what Mill is doing.
For a yearly subscription, customers can buy and use a combined waste tracking and impact app alongside the company’s purpose-made food waste bin. Unlike other bins for food waste, Mill’s product shrinks and dehydrates waste so that there’s no smell or runoff. Mill will dispose of your waste themselves, and use it for sustainable chicken feed.
With a number of high profile environmentally-friendly investors behind them, the Mill ecosystem has a range of benefits for company subscribers as well as individuals. Restaurants and offices can subscribe to Mill and help to move towards sustainability goals, whilst partnerships with local farms provide a solid revenue structure.
Mill is only available in the US, but since its successful first-gen launch in 2023, it has been using funding from that year to enhance its product offering and reach a wider market.
