Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years at a senior level
- At least 4 years dedicated to building and refining web-based software products
- Strong backend skills, with experience ideally in Python, Django, Node.js, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS. Familiarity with tools like GitLab, Kubernetes, and Terraform is a plus
- For our Full Stack roles - we are looking for Full Stack comfort—you’re primarily a backend expert but can contribute to frontend work (React)
- Experience with event-driven systems and platform thinking. You’ve built scalable tools that help other teams move faster and simpler. You’re familiar with systems like Kafka, SQS, and Fastify, and you’ve worked with observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Graylog
- You’ve used AI tooling for work or personal use—or you are willing to dive in and learn fast. You explore new tools, workflows, and ideas to make things more efficient, and are eager to deepen your understanding of AI and use it regularly
What the job involves
- Zapier is actively hiring multiple engineers across our Enterprise zone, including Senior Full Stack Engineers (who are backend leaning) and Senior Backend Engineers to join several high-impact teams
- We’re currently hiring for two key teams:
- Enterprise Experience
- Enterprise Response
- The Enterprise Experience team is writing the playbook, not just iterating on one. Some foundational projects we’re tackling include:
- Building the first dedicated user flows for enterprise admins and builders
- Creating core features like:
- Hierarchical account management
- Cross-org visibility into usage and assets
- User provisioning and permissions transfer
- Alerts, dashboards, audit logs, and more
- The Enterprise Response team keeps our systems resilient and reliable for millions of users—especially when it matters most
- You’ll lead responses to critical incidents and customer-impacting events
- Work directly with enterprise customers
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and support to solve urgent problems
- Build internal tools and improve core product features based on real-world feedback
- This team touches every part of the stack and plays a critical role in ensuring our biggest customers get fast, dependable service. If you thrive on solving complex problems, working hands-on with users, and making a company-wide impact, we’d love to have you join us
- These roles are instrumental in unlocking the full potential of Enterprise admins and builders across Zapier’s product and will directly drive higher sales of our premium plans in the near future. Our take
Even before remote working became the "in thing", freelancers, small business owners, and large organisations have found themselves needing more and more software platforms to serve their operational needs. As people used more software services, Zapier founders saw the need to connect the actions between these software and save everyone some time.
Zapier is the largest integration and automation tool for businesses. Since its founding, Zapier has grown its suite of automation offerings across almost every mainstream software service. The company is one of the most successful to come out of Y Combinator and has also been a pioneer of remote working.
Zapier has so far been able to capitalise heavily on its advantage as one of the first entrants and has had very little actual competition. Software services aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and organisations are only going to need more of them. This puts Zapier in a strong position for growth, but also opens up room for bolder companies to get in on the action. Companies like Airtable and Integromat are already preying on more niche segments of Zapier's market share.
