Who you are
- You’ve built and scaled businesses in fast-paced Consumer Tech environments (eCommerce, Marketplace or App-first) and understand traffic, funnels and LTV/CAC deeply
- You have significant experience leading large, cross-functional teams (10+ people) and aligning diverse skillsets behind a shared goal
- You'll have experience working in International Markets, ideally having spent time working overseas (US or Australia is highly desirable)
- You’re commercially sharp and comfortable owning a P&L
- You can turn complex data (e.g. cohort curves, performance trends, unit economics) into a clear, compelling story for senior leaders or the Board
- You think like a General Manager: big picture, decisive, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to get hands-on when needed
- You influence effectively in matrix organisations, building strong partnerships with Product and Finance to prioritise what matters
- You bring a blend of strategic experience — consulting, finance, corporate or start-up exposure (MBA preferred)
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Director of New Markets to own the P&L and growth strategy across three of Moonpig’s key international markets: the US, Ireland and Australia
- Based in London on a hybrid basis, you’ll report directly to the GM International (Executive Leadership Team) and run these regions like a scale-up within the Group. This is true end-to-end market ownership - setting the vision, driving performance, and leading a cross-functional team to deliver sustainable growth
- You’ll lead a dedicated squad of 15 across Marketing, CRM, Trading and Operations, while working in partnership with Product, Analytics and Finance to unlock the full power of the Moonpig platform
- This is a rare opportunity to shape the next phase of Moonpig’s international growth - with the backing of a FTSE 250 leader and a high degree of autonomy
- Own the full P&L for Ireland, US and Australia, delivering against revenue, margin and contribution targets
- Set the 3-year strategic vision for each market, defining where we play and how we win
- Drive the weekly and monthly trading rhythm, monitoring sales, conversion and basket size, and making real-time decisions during key peaks (Mother’s Day, Valentine’s, Christmas)
- Build and deliver the annual budget and growth strategy, balancing profitability in mature markets (IE/AU) with aggressive acquisition in the US
- Own the core growth equation — CAC, LTV, retention and attach rate — reallocating budget across markets to maximise group-level returns
- Directly manage and develop a team of 15, including Country Leads, unblocking challenges and sharpening local strategies
- Align Marketing (acquisition), CRM (retention), Trading (conversion) and Operations (delivery & CX) around one clear growth vision
- Act as the key Product stakeholder for your markets, influencing the roadmap to support local needs (e.g. payment methods, address formats)
- Partner with Analytics to uncover insights that inform trading and growth decisions
- Work closely with Finance to ensure robust forecasting, unit economics tracking and performance management
- Impact at Scale: You’re not just running campaigns — you’re building the organisation that will deliver Moonpig’s next chapter of international growth
- Leadership Growth: You’ll lead a high-calibre team of specialists and sharpen your ability to scale through others

When Moonpig was founded in 2000, it bought into the idea that a personalised gift is always more meaningful, whether sent from the sofa, the commute, or the gym. Customers quickly bought into this vision, and Moonpig saw rapid growth culminating in its 2011 acquisition by Photobox for £120M.
Since then, Moonpig has seen continued success. Through expansion into new products such as flowers (Moonpig is now a top-3 online flower seller) and the development of its own app, Moonpig has established its place within the market for personalised gifts.
