Role
Who you are
- 6+ years experience working in an analytical or product role. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis geared towards drawing actionable insights from complex datasets
- Experience performing exploratory analysis with minimal direction to answer ambiguous open ended questions
- Experimentation experience to design multivariate tests, synthesize test results and build frameworks to make data-informed launch decisions
- Creative product ideation skills to apply growth tactics broadly to different product areas and think through detailed elements of a product experience
Desirable
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
- Prior consulting (BCG/Bain/Mckinsey) or investment banking experience
- Reforge certification(s)
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Product Analytics lead to partner closely with our Product team. At Collective we are building first-of-its-kind, category-defining AI-enabled financial back-office to help millions of solopreneurs run their businesses more effectively
- We pride ourselves in rethinking established paradigms and bringing creative solutions into existence for our customers
- As the Product Analytics lead you will help set product strategy, inform the product roadmap, and help drive Collective’s growth through a combination of experimentation, action-oriented data analysis, and customer & product insights
- Approach problems from first principles, synthesize large datasets into clear data visualizations + insights to tell compelling stories, get to the “so what” on customer behavior and product initiatives
- Identify opportunities to drive growth and prioritize them to maximize long term growth
- Lead experimentation - all the way from designing tests to analyzing results in order to make launch decisions
- Use data to understand trends in customer behavior and product usage to influence product strategy
- Build, monitor, and report on metrics that drive the product strategy and facilitate decision making for key business initiatives
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and excellent business judgment
- Define, understand and interpret A/B experiments
- Effectively process, cleanse, and combine data sources in useful ways to curate ETL datasets that can be used by the broader team
- Effectively communicate your work with Product leads and XFN stakeholders regularly

Collective is tapping into the quickly growing freelance and self employed workforce with a back office platform which provides full support for accounting, tax, book keeping and other financial admin, essentially removing the burden from the business owner entirely.
Having only launched in 2020, Collective didn’t take long to receive major backing from General Catalyst as well as Ashton Kutcher’s VC fund Sound Ventures. It’s put it to great use too, with an employee headcount now in the hundreds, showing just how fast the startup is growing.
Interestingly, Collective isn’t available for any and all subscribers. Rather, it only allows applicants to become members if Collective’s advisors know they can offer real value. It may seem a counter-intuitive move, but it keeps the company’s success rate high.
The company's latest 2023 funding round is being used to accelerate the implementation of AI across its operations as well as onboard the nearly 100,000 waitlisted businesses. it launched an AI accounting platform for one-person operations in 2024, exemplifying the savvy use of its funds.
