Who you are

This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about building and deploying scalable ML systems
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices, with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++)
Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
Experience with machine learning model deployment
Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker)
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and familiarity with related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions)
Experience with data warehouses (e.g., Redshift / Snowflake / Databricks)
Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray/Spark/Dask)
A keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing
Demonstrated initiative and creativity in solving complex problems
Blog (or other media) communicating the candidate’s data science or engineering projects, ideas, or first-principles thinking

What the job involves

We seek a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Software Engineer to join our Machine Learning (ML) Engineering and MLOps team
The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineers and researchers to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and tools necessary for rapid ML development and deployment
You will gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies in machine learning and cloud computing, contributing to projects that impact our products and services, and ultimately, move the needle on heart disease

Our take

HeartFlow was founded in 2007 and is a medical equipment manufacturer that uses CT-scanned 3D modelling to assess and analyze a patient's arteries. This noninvasive process can help assess the risks of heart disease and strategize the appropriate treatment.

HeartFlow has had a long history of awards and innovations. In 2021, it brought its technology to the NHS in England and in October 2022, introduced a plaque analysis service. As time has gone on, Heartflow has indicated that it is keeping up with technological advances and finding new ways to provide heart health services through them.

HeartFlow successfully launched its IPO in 2021 but faced a setback when its merger with Longview Acquisitions was called off in 2022 due to unfavourable market conditions. Despite this, the company has made a strong comeback and recently unveiled its next-generation plaque analysis AI, demonstrating its continued commitment to innovation and growth.
