Who you are
- Fintech Experience:
- Background experience working with fintech products and services, knowledge of financial technology trends, and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the industry
- Regulatory Knowledge: familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements, such as KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering)
- Strong understanding of financial concepts in payments, open banking and e-wallets
- Payment Systems: Familiarity with payment systems, gateways, and processing methods, as well as knowledge of the payment card industry
- API Integrations: Proficiency in API integrations and understanding how to leverage APIs for data exchange with financial institutions and third-party providers
- Product management:
- Product management experience with mobile development technologies
- Understanding of web/app tracking technologies and frameworks such as Google Analytics, Firebase or similar
- Communication: Excellent communication and leadership abilities and English native/advanced. Bilingual with Spanish is also valued
What the job involves
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and market trends. Coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure successful integration of their services or technologies into our product
- Product Roadmap: Create and manage the product roadmap, outlining feature priorities, timelines, and resource requirements
- Requirement Gathering: Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and specifications, ensuring they are well-documented and actionable by the development team
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and other teams to drive the product development process, from concept to launch
- User Experience: Champion user-centric design principles to create intuitive and delightful user experiences
- Testing and Validation: Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve product features
- Product Launch: Develop go-to-market strategies and coordinate product launches to ensure successful adoption by customers
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor product performance and KPIs, making data-driven decisions to optimize and enhance the product
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that all fintech products and features adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain the highest levels of security
- Communicating with stakeholders about the findings, recommendations, status and progress of every feature and their improvements
Our take
The Hastee app allows workers to access up to 50 per cent of their earned pay immediately at any point during the month. Hastee funds employee withdrawals on behalf of the company, with employers reimbursing Hastee on the “normal payday.” The app is solving a real problem: the majority of UK workers are said to rely on credit, and by giving workers earnings on demand, employees avoid taking on loans to carry them over to payday.
Hastee differs in that its service is completely free for employers, who contribute voluntarily, so it does not affect businesses' cash flow. However, the company faces competition from other payday startups such as WageStream, Even, Earnin and PayActive in an increasingly crowded field. Gig economy employers like Uber and Lyft already have features that allow drivers to cash out immediately after they drive.
Hastee's success led to its 2025 acquisition by Zellis, an HR and payroll solutions company. This move will integrate HAstee into Zellis's products and will expand its customer base exponentially.
