Who you are
- If you're excited about embedded systems, open-source development, and building tools that shape the future of crypto, we’d love to have you on board!
- Knowledge of Debian-based environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and Git
- Proficiency in Bash and Python (scripting and object-oriented programming)
- Knowledge of C and build systems (e.g., Makefile) is a plus
- Very good command of English & French
What the job involves
- Starting date: From January 2025
- In the embedded software organization, reporting directly to the CTO, the Firmware Application team develops and manages embedded applications for Ledger's hardware wallets. These apps run on our custom OS, created by another team in the same organization
- Our team also empowers external developers to build their own apps by providing tools, SDKs, and a seamless integration process to make these apps accessible to all Ledger users via Ledger Live
- A dynamic team of 8 engineers working on C/Rust embedded apps like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Starknet, and more
- Building and maintaining SDKs, emulators, test frameworks, and developer tools to ensure a top-tier development experience
- Managing and deploying 150+ open-source apps through robust CI pipelines
- Supporting the global community of developers contributing to Ledger's open-source ecosystem

- Assess & Migrate Pipelines: Review Jenkins configurations and migrate dependencies, scripts, and plugins to GitHub Actions
- Adjust Environment & Integrations: Ensure SDKs, libraries, and integrations work smoothly on GitHub Actions, and secure sensitive data with GitHub Secrets
- Test & Refactor: Refactor workflows to build applications on specific SDK versions and set up reporting to internal channels

Ledger has grown into one of the world’s largest hardware wallets for digital assets since its 2014 inception, with well over 6 millions of devices sold across the globe. By offering physical devices to store private keys, customers are able to secure their digital assets offline.
The company is attempting to support the continued growth of the crypto eco-system by offering cryptocurrency owners an alternative to storing their assets on an online exchange. There, a simple password breach could cause untold damage.
Ledger’s hardware solution has proven popular with investors, seeing them receive huge funding from 10T Holdings, Cathay Innovation, and Draper Associates to name just a few.
Keen to move on and ensure against any recurrence, Ledger has since secured even more investment, and formed astute partnerships with other big names in the Crypto world, including an integration with Coinbase.
