Role
Who you are
- +/- 3 hours from the EST time zone
- At least five years of experience as a software engineer contributing to production services
- Experience with the following programming languages is a nice to have: Rust, C++, Python, Typescript
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
- Solid fundamental knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design
- A dedication to continuous learning and a commitment to best practices across the whole technology stack
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A demonstrated interest in blockchain technology
- Comfortable working in small team environment with minimal documentation and process
- Experience with dashboard technologies, log aggregators, cloud infrastructure and security (AWS) is nice to have
- Experience with DeFi protocols, developing smart contracts, or building blockchain indexers is nice to have
What the job involves
- Our backend services team is pioneering software for diverse investment products on multiple blockchains
- As an early engineer on a small team, you'll play a key role in building our cloud infrastructure, developing scalable products and tools for fund management, and shaping our development and internal processes
- This role offers a significant opportunity to influence Ondo Finance's success by shaping the core of our technology
- Researching, designing, and implementing Ondo's core products in a multi-chain Defi ecosystem
- Developing risk analysis tools, liquidity management systems, monitoring systems, and robust automations to streamline Ondo Finance’s on and off chain financial systems
- Engineering blockchain indexing solutions in the cloud
- Participating in code reviews and contribute to a culture of ownership, collaboration, learning, and technical excellence
Our take
The crypto market hit it’s all-time peak in 2021 at a value of $3 trillion, whilst it’s not at the optimum place it was cryptocurrency is still very much challenging competitors in the digital currency market. Ondo finance is looking to innovate on top of the traditional crypto models offering structure investment products to users. The company has two branches; an asset management tool and a technology tool that develops decentralized finance protocols, each with their own interface.
A huge win for the company was a 2023 tokenizing exposure to US Treasuries becoming the first tokenized bond backed by US Treasury bills and bank deposits. With this Ondo has stood its ground as a market leader alongside its continued efforts to roll out new tokenised real-world assets and nurture protocols that can support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional crypto. The company boasts a large amount of funding that has supported and continues to support development in the sector to retain its position in the space.
