Who you are
- 5+ years of experience building modern frontend applications using TypeScript, React, JavaScript, CSS, and the DOM
- Strong experience designing and building reliable, observable, and performant systems
- Proven ability to deliver production-ready software, including frontend architectures and API integrations
- Track record of owning and delivering complex projects end-to-end
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, startup environments with evolving requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- High ownership, strong accountability, and a problem-solving
What the job involves
- The Document Generation team at EvenUp builds best-in-class, AI-native products that help attorneys better represent their clients and achieve stronger outcomes
- With over $1.5B in damages claimed to date, the team is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in legal document generation
- The team owns EvenUp Demands, our flagship product that enables higher settlements and faster resolution times, as well as Medical Chronologies, our newest and fastest-growing product—a true startup within a startup
- As part of this team, you’ll work on complex, high-impact problems at the intersection of frontend engineering, AI-powered workflows, and user experience—helping shape the future of AI-driven legal technology
- You'll deliver high-quality frontend systems that power core document generation experiences
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering to scope and deliver impactful solutions
- Lead frontend architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Uphold high standards for security, reliability, and compliance across customer-facing systems
- Contribute to team culture through mentorship, feedback, and continuous improvement
- Build and evolve user-facing workflows that integrate traditional SaaS patterns with modern AI-driven functionality
- Rapidly prototype and ship new features that deliver immediate customer value
- Work closely with product managers, designers, founders, and engineers to scope, design, and deliver high-impact solutions
- Lead frontend architecture and engineering best practices across complex, high-scale systems
- Deliver secure, compliant, and production-ready code, ensuring reliability through testing, reviews, and performance monitoring
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident resolution, and documentation to maintain operational excellence
- Mentor teammates through thoughtful feedback and active participation in team culture and continuous improvement
Our take
Every year, millions of personal injury cases in the US are resolved with only a small fraction going to trial, leaving many victims potentially under-compensated due to inaccurate settlement proposals. EvenUp aims to change this by leveraging AI technology to streamline the assessment of injury cases.
The AI tools evaluate raw case files, including medical and police records, creating tailored "demand packages" that present comprehensive compensation arguments. This improves lawyer performance and victim outcomes.
Despite concerns about AI bias and privacy, EvenUp has garnered significant investor interest, closing a funding round in 2024 that was one of the largest in the history of legal AI. Now valued at over $1 billion, it is investing in its team and introducing new techniques and products for personal injury and other legal areas.
