Role
Who you are
- We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong bias for action and a willingness to get scrappy
- You’ll need to be incredibly motivated, think smarter and work harder, and willing to run through a wall to get shit done
- Previous BDM experience: Proven track record as a BDM with the ability to hit the ground running
- Driven and relentless: Insanely motivated, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile to achieve goals
- Smart and strategic: Able to think critically about targeting prospects, and the best methods to engage them. You exemplify organization, discipline, and resourcefulness in your work
- Adaptable and self-sufficient: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making the role your own, with minimal oversight
- Early-stage experience: Prior experience in a scrappy, early-stage environment is a major plus; the "get it done" mentality should be second nature
- Well-versed in sales tools: Be able to implement automation and sales development tool playbooks
What the job involves
- You'll be learning deeply about our audience to understand where the most qualified prospects live, what their intent signals are, etc
- Your work will be both independent and collaborative- you’re a team player who’s working towards a collective mission
- You’ll be an empowered BDM with the opportunity to earn a strong commission structure, take on AE responsibilities like closing deals, and collaborate directly with the founding team to shape our sales strategy
- Drive meeting goals: Strategically research & engage quality leads and convert a high volume of qualified meetings per month (50+) with developers, product teams, and executives. You’ll help develop scalable processes using creative automation while maintaining a personal touch
- Operational excellence: You’ll collab with our Head of Sales to identify new target personas, refine prospecting strategies, and enhance sales operations to drive results
- Sales-driven outreach: Identify where the most qualified leads are and understand their intent signals to prioritize effectively. You’ll collab with sales and marketing to A/B test and refine outreach strategies with an explorer mindset
- Self-serve lead management: Monitor self-serve sign-ups and existing accounts for timely outreach opportunities
- Proactive problem-solver: Take full ownership of your role; you’ll be expected to take charge on creating and executing strategies. We are looking for an individual who is willing to tackle any challenge and pave the path forward!
Our take
Tavus is an AI video cloning that uses synthetic media, more popularly known as ‘deepfakes’, for companies to produce customizable and scalable content. The platform enables businesses to create videos for the purpose of marketing, outreach, sales, recruiting and more while tailoring them to specific individuals.
Other players in field include Loom and Vidyard, both of which have proven the value of personalized videos for businesses, but whose services take time. Tavus is scalable as its platform can generate thousands of personalized videos in the time it would take to record just one. The videos generated currently come with imperfections, notably the lip-syncing and video-cloning, which Tavus tenuously claims creates for more engaging content.
Synthetic media was called upon heavily during the pandemic, as companies created AI-copilots that could host conferences and pitches remotely - so it will be interesting to see how this industry continues to grow as time goes on. Tavus are young, but are expanding quickly, having being backed by Sequoia and Y Combinator, amongst other top firms, and have the funds to accelerate development and growth moving forward.
