Role
Who you are
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
- 7+ years of full-stack web development experience
- Designing and building APIs
- Designing schemas and performant queries for relational databases
- Understanding of scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
- Prior experience using back end languages, Ruby on Rails a plus
- Prior experience using front end web frameworks
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering manager, team lead, or lead developer-like role
- Preference for candidates with experience using Rails, React, and Typescript

What the job involves
- We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Snapsheet's Communications & Documents team — a sub-team of Claims Management — who is passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to create impactful solutions. You'll drive major initiatives while fostering strong relationships and guiding the team's ongoing success
- At Snapsheet, Engineering Managers are not just people leaders — they're also builders and strategists who stay close to the code and the customer
- The Comms and Docs team is central to the insurance experience. At Snapsheet, we're building an industry-leading ecosystem that removes friction for users at every step. We lead with a collaborative, quality-driven culture and a commitment to innovation
- Manage and contribute to upcoming projects
- Coach and mentor a team of high powered engineers
- Write code in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to quality
- Collaborate with other development teams, product management and design to identify and solve challenging, cross-domain problems
- Contribute to architecture, strategy and decisions
- Coordinate, scope and execute on large initiatives
- Play an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology
- Partner with our internal recruitment team to screen, interview and hire top talent

Our take
Snapsheet delivers end-to-end and modular cloud SaaS solutions for claims management, helping to digitize and automate the space. Its vast capabilities, including an AI-powered damage estimation tool, make claims processes easier to manage and less risk-prone for clients and providers alike.
In recent years, there has been a surge in interest in insurtech, which has certainly helped Snapsheet capture clients and support as it expands. As the sector continues to reassess procedures across the board, a further shift towards automation seems likely, driving yet more clients towards the kind of offerings that the company provides.
Certainly, Snapsheet has positioned itself well in the market, remaining a key player as the sector takes shape. It has shown promising growth and continues to expand its customer relationships, providing solutions that improve the adjuster experience. If it can keep delivering this value it should be able to remain at the front of market development.
