Who you are
- Has 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, 2+ of those years being in a senior role
- Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design, build, and ship solutions to complex technical problems
- Knows how to get the most out of AI-powered development techniques, and is excited to stay on the bleeding edge as the technology continues to develop
- Brings empathy to the table, can communicate effectively within and outside the engineering organization, and cares about what patients and other users experience
- Is passionate about solving problems involving complex systems related to the delivery of high quality healthcare
- Ideally this candidate can work in a hybrid capacity, splitting their time between our NYC office and home; however, there is flexibility commensurate with experience

- Ash is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team
- In this role, you will be a key contributor responsible for implementing high-impact features and solving novel problems that make a difference to real people
- You’ll be a technical anchor on your team, and will be influential both as an architectural guide and as a primary contributor
- Your role will allow you to flex your software design muscles, elevate codebase quality, and make substantive code contributions all at once
- The Platform group plays a role in just about everything Ash builds
- As a Senior Software Engineer within this group, you will influence services that touch every part of the business, and will be a key player in building infrastructure that makes high-quality care easier to access
- High impact: You will influence core services and patient-facing features that directly influence healthcare outcomes for thousands of users

- Take end-to-end ownership of the delivery of key technical projects
- Act as a catalyst for technical excellence, setting the benchmark for high-quality code, building resilient and observable services, and championing the creation of comprehensive documentation

Our take
Founded in 2019, Ash is an end-to-end platform that offers remote diagnostics solutions to businesses and healthcare providers. It was created to help facilitate a healthcare environment that is both inclusive and accessible to all, which includes those who cannot travel out to receive healthcare.
Its white-label testing solution offers customizable tests based on client needs, with over 10 partner labs to deliver results - and upwards of 50,000 tests already completed since Ash was launched. With tech advances improving the quality and connectivity of portable equipment and communications, it's proving an innovative way of addressing the thousands of medically underserved areas in the United States.
The market, however, is correspondingly competitive. Startups like LetsGetChecked and Everlywell are examples of a growing number of home diagnostics startups which have been attracting VC money over recent years. Ash Wellness has successfully raised funding, which will help it set itself apart in the market as it invests in its services moving forwards.
