Who you are
- Strong web development skills (we use Typescript/React/Redux/Next, Node, Rails)
- Experience with scale, API-backed, web applications in production
- Experience delivering end-to-end solutions to produce quality products
- Ability to communicate complex (technical) topics clearly both digitally and verbally (we use Slack, emails, Notion and video calls)
- Affinity for design, user experience, and excellent UI implementation skills
- A pragmatic problem solving approach: balancing the need to create future-proof solutions with the need to get it done
- Excellent written communication (our working language is English)
- Self-directed, analytical, highly-responsible and work well in a team environment
- Broad technical and creative interests (we'd love to see any side projects you've done)
- Someone who is a passionate learner, who isn't afraid of new tools and technologies to build great customer experiences and loves to share their knowledge and experience
What the job involves
- We are looking for a talented Front-end Engineer to join our Portals Engineering team
- You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which includes PMs, designers, other developers, and partners closely with analysts and marketing
- You will work together to take our best ideas from inspiration to production
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to build features and optimizations to drive growth
- Work with engineers across many teams to design solid conventions and solutions across all of our code
- Contribute to a culture of learning and growth through knowledge sharing and mentoring
- Design creative, unique, data informed solutions to problems
- Assisting with scope estimation and delivery
Our take
WeTransfer is a platform that allows users to send files quickly. The founders created the service with the aspiration to become the simplest way to send big files around the world.
The company differentiates itself through the fact that it's a certified B corporation. Even though WeTransfer is mainly known for its file-sharing service, the company operates a number of other services, such as Collect (tool encouraging creation and collaboration), Paper (sketching app) and Paste (collaborative presentation tool). One of the main goals of the organisation in the following period is to raise awareness of these services.
Over the coming years, WeTransfer is looking to continue its product development to ensure it remains competitive against the likes of Dropbox and Google Drive.
