Who you are
- If you're someone who isn't afraid to get hands-on with various technologies and loves solving complex problems using modern data and AI stacks, we'd love to hear from you!
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
- Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python. Experience with leveraging modern LLMs. Production experience with LLMs, including debugging, performance management, continuous improvement. Proven experience in delivering projects end to end in collaboration with stakeholders. Ability to adapt and tackle a wide range of challenges, even in unfamiliar tech stacks
- Ability to tackle multimodal data: We have structured/unstructured data, audio, video modalities all being produced in real-time
- Familiarity with data warehouses: DataBricks preferred but we’re happy to bring a great candidate up to speed!
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Self-starter with a proactive & creative approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of ownership
- Travel & On-call: Ability and willingness to travel for internal team gatherings a few days per quarter. Ability and willingness to be on-call on a weekly rotational basis

- RapidSOS is revolutionizing emergency response by seamlessly connecting life-saving data from connected devices, apps, and sensors directly to 911, empowering first responders with critical real-time information to save lives faster and more effectively
- We are seeking an enthusiastic AI Senior Software Engineer with a focus on building high quality software to join our team
- You will develop AI-driven solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency call centers
- Your work will directly impact call takers and other stakeholders in the Emergency response domain, making their jobs easier through the infusion of AI and data
- Develop with AI: Build quality software. Identify best sources of intelligence for our applications, design for robustness and continuous improvement
- Leverage data: RapidSOS has vast datasets of emergency calls and payloads from digital sensors to identify patterns and insights that can improve response times and outcomes. Fuse internal and external data (e.g. hurricane forecast) to provide optimal decision support to call takers
- Work across the stack: Leverage AI to build components outside your comfort zone
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other software developers, data engineers, and emergency response professionals, to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into the RapidSOS platform
- Innovation: Stay updated on the latest AI advancements and assess their applicability to our mission of enhancing public safety
Our take
Emergency response services currently act exclusively on information provided by phone calls. Callers are usually vulnerable and panicked, and this has a negative effect on the expression of important information to phone call receivers. In addition, America's 9-1-1 system was built for landline phones, making it nearly impossible to digitally send data to first responders.
RapidSOS builds tools that provide caller data to emergency services to help them assess situations and make decisions faster. The startup utilizes data from mobile devices, smart devices and security systems to gain valuable insights into users' location, medical history and more. This helps produce a general profile on a caller ID, providing valuable contextual information in emergency situations.
The company has raised substantial funding, the latest of which will help it expand operations and its development efforts. It continues to release new features and products, such as the first AI co-pilot for 911, and an intelligent safety platform for emergency responders. This demonstrates RapidSOS's commitment to further improving the value it supplies to its users.
