Who you are

Main skill in Backend development, with experience in developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems (note: experience of Kotlin would be a plus)
Secondary skill in web development, using HTML, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js and React. Knowledge of GraphQL. Familiar with micro-frontend architecture
Sound understanding of event-driven microservices architecture
Deep knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres
Appreciation of working in a modern cloud architecture, preferably with AWS
Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka)
Understanding of clean/hexagonal architectures
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong call to action and for getting things done
Ongoing appreciation and consideration for security
Motivation to write code which is well-tested and well-documented
Give and receive open, direct and timely feedback

What the job involves

You will work in the Savings segment. The segment's goal is to build the best- in-class savings experience that the world will love to use
As a Backend Engineer at N26, you will help us create new savings products and also bring the existing ones to more markets while encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, interesting problems on a daily basis
Savings is powered by a microservice architecture written in Kotlin using Spring Boot
Our cross-functional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, as well as working with a high degree of autonomy
Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product
Collaborate closely with the team's Lead Engineer on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion
Do discovery, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment
Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and be willing to actively propose findings during participation in our GSDD

In a bid to distance itself from rivals, N26 has launched insurance products accessible from the company’s mobile app and website. The first insurance product is a smartphone insurance plan for German customers. It is also working on private liability insurance, home insurance, life insurance, pet insurance and coverage for bikes, electronics and large purchases.
