Graduate Analytics Engineer, Petlab

• Computer Science or other technical degree OR equivalent years’ commercial experience in industry
• A strong understanding of SQL – this is essential
• The ability to use at least one programming language (preferably Python) for data manipulation and cloud engineering purposes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
• A basic understanding of SQL database systems, Kimball data modelling, and ELT processes
• A basic understanding of cloud computing concepts
• An understanding of APIs

• Reporting in to our Data Engineering Manager you’ll work at the intersection between our analysts and engineers, supporting them in projects across every department
• You’ll be part of a small but ambitious team and be responsible for building intuitive downstream data models to make our data warehouse a genuine competitive advantage for Petlab
• You will play a critical role in the company's data-driven decision-making by developing, implementing, and maintaining critical datasets in our data warehouse
• You will collaborate closely with everyone in the data team to gather requirements; design and develop data pipelines; and provide valuable insights to stakeholders across the organisation

• Collaborate with the analytics team to gather and understand business requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support data analytics initiatives
• Ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing tests, alerts and validation processes
• Develop, update and maintain data models based on changing business needs
• Assist Analysts with the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders
• Respond and debug data pipeline failures
• Write and maintain technical documentation for the data assets you produce
• Constantly seek to improve the data we provide to the wider company
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data analytics to suggest improvements in the way we work
