Role
Who you are
- This role requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role or in a highly analytical and technical internship
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and financial modeling capabilities
- Required: Intermediate proficiency in SQL, with experience in querying, data manipulation, and database management
- Proven experience using data visualization tools, with a strong preference for Tableau
- Solid understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and validation techniques
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and forecasting
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other statistical programming languages is a plus
- Solid understanding of analytical techniques including:
- Validation of AB experimentation configuration, results, and impact on business
- Using data to identify root-cause
- Mix-Pure analysis
- Analytical and Business Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret complex data
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights and business recommendations
- Excellent business acumen and understanding of how data can drive business value
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong presentation skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders at various levels
- Ability to effectively handle objections and facilitate consensus-building
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
What the job involves
- As an Analyst, you will play a key role in driving data-informed decision-making by analyzing complex data, generating actionable insights, and presenting recommendations to business stakeholders
- You will be responsible for identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities that improve business performance, optimize operations, and support strategic objectives
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze complex datasets from various sources to identify meaningful trends, patterns, and insights. Apply statistical techniques and methodologies to extract actionable information
- Insight Generation: Develop data-driven insights and recommendations that address business challenges, improve processes, and drive growth. Translate analytical findings into clear and concise business implications
- Data Visualization and Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain insightful reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Tableau (preferred) or other data visualization tools to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
- Financial Modeling: Build and enhance financial models to forecast business performance, evaluate strategic initiatives, and support decision-making
- Presentation and Communication: Present analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, including management and cross-functional teams. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs, define analytical projects, and provide ongoing support. Address questions, handle objections, and facilitate consensus-building
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business performance to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data quality, streamline analysis, and increase efficiency
Our take
Food delivered to your door often gets cold and soggy as it travels in a courier's bag from the restaurant to your home. Using Wonder, customers order food from a mobile app, which is cooked in a truck right outside your door. It aims to improve the standard of home-delivered food, both the quality of product – working with world-renowned chefs – and the experience itself.
Wonder has received fair criticism surrounding poor environmental consideration, as each kitchen/van sits idle with the engine running whilst food is prepared. A study by the US Department of Energy found that banning the unnecessary idling of personal vehicles would be the same as taking 5 million vehicles off the roads.
Despite this, Wonder has sustainability strategies involving food sourcing, reducing food waste, sustainable packaging, and, notably, an emissions-neutral fleet. Wonder has received enormous funding, bringing it to a valuation of $7 billion, and the number of vans distributed across North America is expected to multiply exponentially.
