Who you are
- Experience in an office coordination, People Ops, or administrative role - ideally in a fast-moving tech or scale-up environment
- Working knowledge of German employment legislation, and knowledge of French or Irish employment legislation is a plus
- Fluency in German and English - both are essential for this role
- Experience using an HRIS; Workday familiarity is a plus
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a track record of managing multiple priorities accurately and simultaneously
- A natural communicator and listener - someone who builds trust quickly and brings a balanced, thoughtful approach to every interaction
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment, while staying closely connected to a distributed team
- Deeply curious, values-driven, and motivated to help people - and the world - be more active
- You're energised by variety. You're just as comfortable setting up a new joiner's desk as you are tracking payroll data in a system, and you take pride in doing both well
- Based in Berlin and able to be on-site three days per week
What the job involves
- This is a part-time (3 days/week), fixed-term role covering a period of parental leave in our Berlin office. Berlin is home to Strava's product development centre - a team of talented engineers, designers and product thinkers
- We are looking for an organised, people-first People & Office Coordinator to be the operational heartbeat of our Berlin workplace. You'll make sure our team has a great day-to-day experience and that new joiners across Germany, Ireland and France feel genuinely welcomed and set up for success from day one
- You'll own the Berlin office environment end to end while supporting the full employee lifecycle across our European locations - from onboarding administration through to offboarding
- Working closely with our international People team, you'll be a visible, warm presence for everyone who walks through our Berlin doors. It's a varied, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of People and Workplace - no two days look the same
- This role reports to the Director of People International
- Own the Berlin office day to day: facilities, supplies, health and safety, guest access, room bookings, snacks and the things that make the office a great place to work
- Be the welcoming face for new joiners on their first day: office tours, onboarding and benefit sessions
- Coordinate on-site interviews and candidate hosting, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for every visitor
- Support onboarding administration for new hires across Germany, Ireland and France
- Process and track vendor invoices - collecting, scanning, merging and sending to Finance on schedule
- Support monthly payroll inputs under the guidance of the People Ops team; entering new joiner data, tracking changes and maintaining accuracy
- Run compliance reporting on a regular cycle: probation tracking, absence records, annual leave balances
- Assist with visa support letters and immigration logistics in coordination with the relevant partners
- Support the global Workplace team with Berlin-based event coordination and local logistics as needed
Our take
Strava has created an online network where runners, swimmers and cyclists can record fitness activities, and compare and compete with their community. It offers both a free and premium subscription service with added features. The company also partners with local councils and urban planners who purchase valuable journey data from Strava which can be used to map out cities and develop safer cycle paths.
The platform helps members discover and plan workouts, as well as offering a leaderboard which is updated using GPS as users compete for the top spot on particular fitness segments.
With over 125 million athletes and growing, Strava released several new product rollouts in 2024, including an AI-enabled leaderboard. A partnership with the wearable fitness tracker Oura will mean Strava software is available on wearables, taking the company into fresh competition with the likes of Peloton and Apple. In 2025, the company secured new funding in a round led by Sequoia Capital, growing its value to $2.2 billion.
