Who you are
- Experience with a fast-paced, always-on environment
- Experience driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems
- International accounting experience required to cover both UK and US (e.g. US GAAP, SOX, UK GAAP)
- Qualified with 7-10 years PQE as a minimum (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong leadership skills
- A team player who is motivated to succeed as a team and independently
- Ability to use your own initiative and work under pressure and to deadlines
- Willingness to question the validity and accuracy of processes to drive improvement
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Experienced with multiple finance systems, familiarity with NetSuite would be nice to have but not essential
- Previous M&A experience would be a nice to have but not essential
- Intermediate/advanced (Excel, G-Suite) knowledge
What the job involves
- Leading a team across the UK, you will be responsible for the efforts and results of the finance department. Reporting to the Finance Director / CFO in regards to all financial and accounting activities. Along with overseeing finance department staff in day-to-day operations
- Oversee all company accounts and financial reporting requirements, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
- Own and manage the month end process to tight deadlines, as well as the preparation of the monthly and annual reports to identify actual results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Supervise and manage a finance department, including senior accountants, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and management accounting
- Motivate and lead finance team members through coaching and development
- Establish, implement and improve financial reporting systems, processes and internal controls in order to manage compliance risk and ensure good governance
- Streamline the accounting functions and operations in order to drive efficiencies and scalability
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Manage cash flow requirements and banking relationships
- Support in the development of budgets and financial plans for the company
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities as well as variances to plans
- Assist the FD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
- Ensuring timely filing of quarterly tax returns and liaising with the tax team on related matters
- Providing analysis and strategic insight to senior management on a proactive and as-requested basis
