Who you are
- You’ll have completed a degree, business-centric/ finance degree preferred
- Previous experience in Business Operations and/ or Finance roles would be highly advantageous
- Experience working in a startup or fast paced environment would be highly desirable
- Must be highly organized, efficient, and demonstrate superior attention to details
- Possess an ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic, fast moving environment
- You must show integrity when handling confidential financial information
- Quick learner - have a “knack” for technology – able to figure out new systems and adapt rapidly
- Problem solver - be able to actively find a creative solution efficiently and proactively
- Good written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English
- Proficiency in Office Tools such as G-Suite, Slack, or the equivalent
What the job involves
- Partner with support staff on day-to-day activities, team meetings, and event planning
- In partnership with hiring managers and / or the People Operations team, you will assist with new hire’s onboarding experience - Laptops, email setup, access and logins, assist with New Hire Orientation logistics etc
- You’ll manage our spend management software including company cards
- Act as a point of contact and offer support to the team
- Support the team in organizing in person and virtual events (offsites, team buildings) including travel where necessary
- Assist the team with workplace compliance and logistics
- You’ll work with suppliers to manage equipment such as laptops in both allocation and collection
- Liaise with vendors to meet needs for the growing teams
- Must be extremely adaptable to the ever-changing needs of a fast growing technology company
- Identify issues or deficiencies and recommend improvements
- Support other administrative/ finance tasks as needed

Our take
Initially a platform providing an online presence to academic content shared at offline conferences, Morressier has shifted focus over recent years. It now leverages its existing institutional links by creating an end-to-end virtual/hybrid conference management platform.
This served Morressier well when demand for virtual conferences spiked - but the future strength of this demand is by no means a given. Academics are somewhat split on their preferences for conference formats, with the lower attendance fees of online events being weighed up against the lack of in-person networking and engagement. Institutions themselves have cited the high AV costs of event streaming as a reason to stick with the traditional model, too.
Morressier may have wisely covered its back, then, through its additional offering of a complementary publishing platform. This also sets the company apart from virtual event competitors like Hopin and vFairs.
