Brand Designer, GoCardless

• GoCardless are seeking a self-motivated, curious, and inspired brand designer to join our design team
• This role is ideal for a proactive designer who is excited to contribute to a growing design team and make a significant impact in shaping the future of the GoCardless brand
• Proficiency in design tools: You are native in Figma, and are especially excited about building brand design systems that optimise for scale and automation
• You are comfortable in, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and preparing assets for production
• AI: You are familiar with and enthusiastic about the role AI plays in the design
• Whether generating assets or using it to expedite or unblock processes, you see its use as a force multiplier
• Art direction: As well as someone who is excited about solving technical challenges, we are looking for applicants with discerning visual taste who are comfortable in applying that judgement across a spectrum of disciplines and channels
• Whether you are working on, an email nurture campaign, a global marketing campaign, a product launch or headline event, your sense for what good looks and sounds like, shines through
• Clarity from complexity: You care deeply about users, possess the ability to distil complex, ambiguous concepts into simple user-centric designs
• This skill is essential in creating effective designs that resonate with our audience and enhance their experience of our products
• Digital products and technical innovation: You are excited by digital products and technological advancements, both in how they can help bring variety to the design process, but also through the lens of evolving conventions (such as user experience and interface design)
• Visual craft and attention to detail: You care deeply about presentation, demonstrating a passion for the craft of design, going the extra 10% to elevate designs beyond “good enough”
• Business acumen: An understanding of the balance between desirability and delivering
• You are always mindful of company objectives, knowing when it is appropriate to ship a product and when to pause for iteration
• Your design decisions are informed not only by creativity but also by business goals and user needs
• Project and stakeholder management: You are confident at managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
• Adaptive problem solving: As an adaptive, self-starting designer, you approach projects with a flexible mindset, continuously striving for improvement
• Team collaboration and humility: We value humility and appreciate the power of teamwork
• As a team player, you are willing to engage in all aspects of the design process, including the less glamorous tasks that contribute to the overall success of the team
• Experience and portfolio: We are looking for designers with 3+ years of experience either within an in-house team (beneficial if coming from a VC backed technology company) or a respected branding agency
• Your portfolio includes relevant case studies to the role specification and showcase your ability to design at a consistently high level across a variety of channels and media types
