Role
Who you are
- You have at least 7+ experience in back-end development, using TypeScript & NodeJS, with a focus on delivering for security, scalability, availability, and performance
- You have worked extensively with AWS in a production environment, preferably for high volume / high availability services and understand how to design for, deploy on and get the best out of, the environment and services provided by Amazon)
- You are rigorous with code quality and other engineering best practices (testability, maintainability), and are accustomed to using systems such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub, etc
- Clean Code, Clean Architecture, Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development and Continuous Integration/Deployment are the way you design, develop and release software
- You possess effective and proactive communication skills, and can collaborate with different profiles and roles
- A proven experience with Domain Driven Design would be a plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for engaged and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering department and be part of our Authentication team in EMEA
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operation of business-critical features that add customer value
- Operational excellence, metrics, observability and best practices, evangelization, and mentoring in your team and across the whole of Engineering will be part of your day to day job
- Quality, excellence, and agility drive our delivery processes and you will help us level these up
- Using NodeJS and Typescripts back-end stacks, appropriate for each requirement, but always hosted on AWS, we build added value and resilient services on top of voice and fully integrate with our customers’ business critical tools (CRM, Helpdesk, E-Commerce, …)
- On Authentication & Authorization team we are working with SAML, SSO, OAuth 2.0, granular permission system and GraphQL as Backend for Front-end (BFF). We have serverless architecture based on AWS services (Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, ApiGateway, ...)
- Be part of an engineering organization delivering high quality, secure, and scalable solutions to Aircall clients
- Write clean scalable code using Typescript / Node.js, test and deploy applications and systems
- Have key responsibilities within the requirements analysis, solution design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of key modules in order to provide business solutions
- Involvement in product and platform performance optimization and live site monitoringMentor junior team members
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical system issues and ensure continuous system reliability
Our take
Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall exists to change that, providing a cloud-based call centre infrastructure that allows sales teams to work from their home offices.
Aircall isn't the only company in this space, and it faces heavy competition from Cloudtalk, another cloud-based call centre solution. However Aircall stands out in the market by its use of open APIs and webhooks, making integration with existing productivity and helpdesk tools much easier, and its superior call quality. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 15,000 companies using its platform.
The company has raised significant funding in recent years, highlighting the confidence investors have in their offering. With a rapidly expanding presence in the US, European, UK and Australian markets and recent refresher leadership hires, Aircall could soon be a widely recognised international player in the telephone software industry.
