Role
Who you are
- We seek candidates with an interest in the financial markets with experience of working on large projects
- The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing, enhancing, and ensuring the robustness of our front-end solutions, especially those that are critical for LSEG Capital Markets’ strategic goals
- Proven experience in front-end software development as a principal senior engineer
- Strong professional experience in TypeScript
- Experience with UI testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress (excluding WebDriver)
- Experience with microservices and event-based architecture
- Hands-on experience with Cloud (Azure, AWS or similar), particularly with deploying, managing, and scaling back-end application
- Next.js (v14+)
- Gitlab pipelines
- Proficient in TDD/BDD methodologies
- Deep understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases
- Experience pairing with QA Automation (SDET) engineers to help reduce technical debt and contribute to building a maintainable E2E automation suite
- Broad knowledge & practical expertise in front-end technologies including JavaScript, React, and Node.js. Understanding of TDD/BDD, microservices, and event-based architecture
- Commercial awareness and knowledge of financial services (desirable, not required)
- Excellent communicator, able to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Vision and creativity to foresee challenges and provide innovative solutions
- Interest in new technology and ability to work with early-stage ideas

- DMI (Digital Markets Infrastructure) is an ambitious project: large-scale, complex and uses a range of blockchain architecture patterns, with numerous stakeholders (internal and external) and use cases
- The work is focused on the tokenisation of financial instruments, i.e. as digital assets
- This is a chance to work on an innovative, intellectually challenging project backed by the influential reach of London Stock Exchange Group
- Design, develop, and optimize front-end software solutions using modern technologies
- Collaborate with product teams and architects to deliver scalable and reliable software
- Play a pivotal role in the product development life cycle, ensuring that front-end solutions are robust and scalable
- Engage with cross-functional teams, central technology functions, and wider stakeholders to ensure software design goals are met
- Ensure alignment of front-end solutions with LSEG’s technology and business goals
- Maintain up-to-date expert knowledge of web technologies and trends

It operates as a part of LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), one of the world’s leading providers of financial markets infrastructure, as a marketplace to enable stock brokers and traders to buy and sell stocks, bonds, and other securities.
The London Stock Exchange has lived through a stream of innovations; from telegraph and telephone, to the Market Price Display System, automatic trade matching, and the digitisation of issuer services. In 2019 it acquired Refinitiv, a financial information company, and in doing so became a global financial news and data business.
Most recently, the London Stock Exchange has made moves to support the evolution of private markets, and further build its presence in this space. It partnered with Floww, a platform that connects investors with private companies, with aims to launch a private primary capital raising facility, as well as explore new technologies and secondary market options for the platform.
