Who you are

3+ years of product management experience in technical domains like platform engineering or developer tooling
Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Redshift, BigQuery, Hive, Kafka, Airflow, etc.)
Strong understanding of data infrastructure and consumer pain points
Proven ability to prioritize backlogs and write clear, actionable user stories
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira, Rally, or Trello
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
A bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a passion for solving complex problems
Experience using AI tools to enhance product management and data engineering outcomes

What the job involves

As a Product Manager focused on Data Engineering, you’ll lead the roadmap and strategy for data initiatives that fuel enterprise tools like Salesforce, Marketo, and ServiceNow
You’ll work cross-functionally with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to build scalable data pipelines, optimize data warehouses, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
Leveraging experience in enterprise tools and data engineering, the Product Manager prioritizes and delivers impactful solutions through data-driven decision-making, experimentation, and user-focused design approaches to maximize value derived from data and enable decision-making across the org
Your work will directly impact how Pax8 teams access insights, accelerate growth, and deliver value to our customers.
Own and evolve the data engineering product roadmap aligned with business OKRs
Enhance data accessibility and usability across enterprise platforms
Apply product thinking to improve the data consumer experience
Collaborate across teams to prioritize and deliver high-impact solutions
Facilitate agile ceremonies and manage sprint execution
Stay ahead of trends in data engineering, governance, and AI-first practices
Use KPIs and OKRs to measure success and guide trade-off decisions

Cloud computing facilitates access to software products without having the computer power required to use them, presenting great opportunities for enterprises to benefit from cutting-edge software. However, managing subscriptions to cloud products can be a convoluted process unique to each software product, presenting the need for a unified accessibility solution.

Pax8 provides an online marketplace for cloud-based software, allowing businesses to order, bill, manage, and provision cloud products within a single place. The marketplace contains a curated catalogue of cloud providers, a license management dashboard, demo infrastructure and tools for billing and invoicing, ultimately ensuring that users do not need to navigate outside the platform to manage their cloud software inventory.

Whilst many of the services provided by Pax8 are already included in cloud software applications, the company has made the smart move of partnering with software providers such as Bam Boom Cloud to unify all management tools into a single platform. By ensuring companies can browse, purchase, and manage cloud solutions within the marketplace, the company aims to increase accessibility and minimise complexities associated with cloud computing.
