Who you are

We’re seeking a Business Development Director for the Private Sector to lead ExTrac’s growth across corporate risk, strategic intelligence, and financial markets. This role focuses on expanding our footprint with organisations that operate in complex, fast-moving environments and need clear, reliable foresight to make better decisions.
Proven success closing large (£1m+) deals in corporate risk, financial services, data/analytics, SaaS, or threat-intelligence markets.
Deep familiarity with corporate security, intelligence, investigations, geopolitical advisory, or financial-sector risk.
Established networks across organisations such as: major multinationals, financial institutions, insurers, and global advisory firms.
Ability to articulate complex analytical technology in plain language and map it to concrete business problems.
Strong understanding of the competitive landscape.
Track record of working with senior executives - C-suite, risk committees, chiefs of staff, investment heads.
Commercial discipline: pipeline building, forecasting, deal structuring, and account expansion.
Comfortable navigating high-ambiguity environments and leading efforts from first contact through pilot, proof-of-value, and full adoption.
This is a senior, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in high-growth environments and wants to help define a new category of intelligence technology.

Desirable

Experience in both advisory/intelligence consulting and technology companies.
Deep understanding of geopolitical risk, sanctions, macro-driven markets, and their impact on investors and corporates.
Appreciation of where AI genuinely adds value in intelligence work - and where it does not.
Ability to work closely with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to bring technical capabilities into commercial conversations.
Entrepreneurial instinct and appetite for building something category-defining.

What the job involves

This is not a transactional sales role. The successful candidate will be a strategic operator - someone who can earn the trust of senior stakeholders, speak credibly to geopolitical and security risks, and translate ExTrac’s technical capabilities into meaningful value for clients. You will:
Own and execute ExTrac’s commercial strategy across private-sector verticals (corporate security, threat intelligence, geopolitical risk, financial markets).
Engage senior stakeholders - CROs, CSOs, Heads of Intelligence, portfolio managers, macro analysts, insurers, and consultancy leaders.
Convert high-value opportunities, including enterprise SaaS, analytical reporting contracts, and data/API integrations.
Shape markets, not just respond to them - positioning ExTrac as the successor to the intelligence models that dominate corporate risk today.
Collaborate closely with Product, Research, and Data, ensuring client needs become part of ExTrac’s platform evolution.
