Who you are

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
5+ years of relevant industry experience in a software company as an engineer
2+ years of management experience, preferably within growing organizations (hiring, forming new teams)
Deep understanding of software development best practices: testing, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile methodologies
Experience developing web-based user interfaces and applying UI/UX best practices
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (Amazon Web Services or equivalent)
Experience architecting authentication and authorization solutions for web applications
Advanced programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable

Experience with Vue.js, Django

What the job involves

If you are passionate about leading world-class engineers, building scalable cloud architectures, and providing web application product security, join our engineering team! You will work alongside Software Engineers, InfoSec, and Product Managers to build APIs, user interfaces, and backend systems that integrate with third-party software systems
Ensure timely release of software through project management best practices
Provide technical leadership on software components and tooling (cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, Databases)
Provide guidance to direct reports (career development of Software Engineers, 3-5 reports expected)
Drive continuous improvement of our development methodology (Agile) and Engineering culture
Collaborate cross-functionally with key partners in Product Management, Strategy, Operations, and Regulatory to ensure high-quality, high-impact delivery of innovative software projects
Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans
Hands-on technical contributions as appropriate

Our take

HeartFlow was founded in 2007 and is a medical equipment manufacturer that uses CT-scanned 3D modelling to assess and analyze a patient's arteries. This noninvasive process can help assess the risks of heart disease and strategize the appropriate treatment.

HeartFlow has had a long history of awards and innovations. In 2021, it brought its technology to the NHS in England and in October 2022, introduced a plaque analysis service. As time has gone on, Heartflow has indicated that it is keeping up with technological advances and finding new ways to provide heart health services through them.

HeartFlow successfully launched its IPO in 2021 but faced a setback when its merger with Longview Acquisitions was called off in 2022 due to unfavourable market conditions. Despite this, the company has made a strong comeback and recently unveiled its next-generation plaque analysis AI, demonstrating its continued commitment to innovation and growth.
