- BA/BS degree required
- 4+ years of email marketing experience
- 2+ years working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, building emails, templates, dynamic fields, and automated journeys
- Proficient with HTML and SQL
- Proficient with audience segmentation, list management, and email deliverability
- Proven performance history of planning, executing, and analyzing A/B and multivariate testing
- Exceptional project management skills, extremely detail-oriented, and ability to multitask
- Excellent problem-solving skills: able to anticipate obstacles and identify opportunities
- Solid interpersonal skills: You are a team player with effective written and verbal communication skills, and can work cross-functionally with stakeholders
- Identify, initiate, and develop complex email system-related improvements and efficiencies
- A deep understanding of email marketing best practices
What the job involves
- IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking an Lead Email Marketing Specialist
- As a part of our growing Email Marketing team, you will help elevate our email marketing program and engage our customer and prospective base of administrators, educators, and families at all stages of their lifecycle
- You will partner with content and creative teams, marketing managers, and business stakeholders to take emails from concept to delivery and you will be responsible for building the email in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Using email best practices and implementing A/B testing, you will optimize response and conversions while striving to create the best possible user experience
- Develop, manage, and launch dynamic end-to-end email marketing campaigns
- Manage design requests, feedback and timelines
- Work seamlessly in partnership with the content, design, engineering, and product teams
- Performance analysis: Continuously optimize email campaigns through testing, measuring impact, and iterating for improved results in alignment with organizational goals
- Technical oversight: Collaborate with IT and ESPs to maintain and optimize email infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement enhancements
- Identify, initiate, and develop complex email system-related improvements and efficiencies
- Work independently and take initiative to question things
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in email marketing

IXL Learning has been creating software solutions for education since the late 90s and claims to have more than 13 million students using its service. The personalized learning platform has grown and developed since the late 90s internet boom and become more responsive and tailored to each of its students' needs.
This evolution has been achieved through breakthroughs in analytics software as well as numerous lucrative acquisitions by IXL. These buyouts have included Rosetta Stone, one of the global leading language learning platforms, Education.com and Vocabulary.com. IXL also facilitates Wyzant, the largest tutoring network in the US, and ABCya, which has published more than 300 educational computer games.
With a vast internet network of companies under its belt, IXL is still investing in innovation in the 2020s. In 2022, it acquired Curiosity Media which is responsible for Fluencia. This Spanish language learning app uses neuroscience research to perfect the learning of the Spanish language, exemplifying how IXL has grown from a revolutionary online learning platform to a multi-pronged investor in education. That being said, it still releases its own groundbreaking products such as the IXL Math "Takeoff" platform, a personalised whole-class instruction resource for teachers.
