Who you are

  • Exemplary time management skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, critical thinking, a desire to solve customer problems, and effective communication throughout the customer experience are all key components to being successful in the role
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in billing and collection activity at a fast paced, high growth company, with at least 2 years of experience in a people management capacity
  • You will be someone that places customer service (external and internal) as a top priority and directs your team to do so as well
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivate a high performing team
  • Able to work independently, effectively managing and using time through organization and structure and supervise and direct team members (we are a remote-first company)
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to address complex issues and achieve optimal account resolution
  • Prior experience in customer service or customer success will be a plus

What the job involves

  • Flock Safety is looking for an Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team
  • This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day billing, collections and customer support in relation to accounts receivable activity and directing the accounts receivable agents in their daily tasks
  • You will be a leader of the team that drives and owns cash collections in the company
  • As a manager in the AR team, you will have a billing case target that you will be responsible for achieving. In doing so, you will set expectations and goals for the AR agents and direct their daily activities and functions, working to resolve the more complicated cases that have multifaceted root-causes
  • You will be the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders when it comes to billing case escalations. You will collaborate with cross functional teams and individuals in executing this responsibility
  • You will also ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date collections notes that relate to billing cases to enable the Company to effectively forecast collections
  • Be able to answer internal and external customer questions through phone calls and email communications (ticketing system) with a specific focus toward hospitality and customer care
  • Reconcile customer account balances and resolve billing issues with customers
  • Thorough understanding of our customer billing terms and systems to be able to resolve billing issues
  • Meet team objectives, key results, goals and metrics
  • Lead or support initiatives to implement processes to improve existing functions and help optimize workflow and resources, as needed
  • Train the team as needed in executing their tasks effectively and efficiently
  • The First 30 Days:
  • Gain an understanding of the workflows and root cause analysis of the billing cases for all responsible categories
  • Develop a daily cash application reconciliation process to ensure month-end processing
  • Gain an understanding of the company’s products and services, customer contractual terms and payment terms
  • The First 60 Days:
  • Deepen your understanding of the workflows and root cause analysis of the billing cases for all responsible categories
  • Continue to ensure daily cash application reconciliation process to ensure month-end processing
  • Work with the collections team to ensure notes are current and accurate as they relate to cases
  • 90 Days & Beyond:
  • Recommend improvements on the workflows and root cause analysis of the billing cases for all responsible categories
  • Ability to provide timing of collections on all your accounts as they relate to cases
  • Working independently to resolve customer billing and collections issues and engaging internal stakeholders as necessary

Our take

Public vehicle surveillance provides valuable insights to emergency services for the prevention of crime, but bringing information together to create leads is difficult. There's no standardised system for inter-city vehicle surveillance, and this makes it difficult for communities and law enforcement services to work together.

Flock Safety provides surveillance equipment that aims to improve the abilities of law enforcement and homeowner associations to communicate data with each other. The company focuses on vehicle surveillance, innovating on existing technology by using machine learning to categorise vehicles by color, license plate, state, and other data points.

Whilst automated surveillance equipment is used daily within federal police forces, Flock Safety builds technology systems that provide a means for smaller law enforcement agencies to quantify and share surveillance data easily. This data can then be automatically processed to help develop leads, a time-consuming process that would usually have to be completed manually.
