Role
Who you are
- Led or been directly responsible for scaling hiring for a VC-backed tech company from early stage, through to growth stages (i.e., from 30 FTE to over 100)
- Experience running Tech and Product recruitment
- Built talent acquisition, retention, and development initiatives
- Developed and executed talent strategies that align with fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Built high-performing teams while preserving a positive, inclusive, and dynamic company culture
- Some experience with People Ops initiatives relevant to early stage companies
Desirable
- You have experience managing distributed or hybrid teams, and working with EORs to facilitate international hiring
- You’re passionate about the wine or spirits industry and have knowledge of the industry landscape
- You’ve worked closely with leadership teams to build alignment on talent strategies that support aggressive business growth

Our take
Businesses in the drinks industry encounter unique challenges, such as significant liquidity constraints (with funds tied up in stock and lengthy payment terms), an outdated and complex supply chain, and a highly regulated global market that creates friction and barriers to international sales. Ferovinum has developed an end-to-end digital platform that empowers businesses to fund, produce, procure, and sell in global wine and spirits markets.
The producers of spirits and wines are generally small to medium-sized businesses, and Ferovinum’s pitch is that its technology, which provides working capital and supply chain automation tools, will benefit from this rocket-boosted tech. It offers a comprehensive suite of foundational services, including capital funding, supply chain automation, international logistics, and access to global trade channels. The company’s founders certainly have experience in financial management, one having overseen structured commodity financing at the Macquarie Group and the other having a history of executive directing restructuring for investment banks.
With production and distribution tools at its disposal, Ferovinum offers predictive inventory management, seamless integration, and international logistics. Its one-size-fits-all technology has already benefitted some of the oldest scotch whiskey distilleries in Scotland on a pilot scheme, funded by a £100 million investment in Ferovinum in 2021. Though still in its early days, the company seems set to attract more clients as its technology evolves.
