Who you are

An extensive portfolio showcasing expertise in designing highly technical products, with proven success in high-impact projects
Some leadership experience managing designers on complex projects

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Product Design Manager to foster the team of designers building the next generation of web design and development products used by the best brands in the world
You’ll own the outcomes for design projects across our core design tooling, including Webflow’s navigator, styles, code, and interaction tools, as well as yet to be released AI features
You’ll partner closely with engineering and product management to plan and execute on exciting new solutions for Webflow customers
This role will be reporting to the Director of Product Design
Review designs to ensure intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and technically sophisticated products
Prioritize and evangelize user research initiatives with our UXR team to uncover deep insights that inform design strategies and product decisions
Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, engineers, and product managers to align design visions and strategies across departments
Get into the weeds enough on designs to ensure principled and confident decisions, and proactively ensure key milestones are communicated and met
Evaluate and incorporate emerging design trends in HTML, CSS, JS, and AI to keep our products innovative and competitive
Advocate for design excellence, inclusivity, and accessibility across all aspects of our product development process
Work with design management to create and uphold cultural initiatives that keep our design team engaged, excited, and close knit
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role

Our take

No-code development systems allow users to create and publish the kind of output that was once only possible with the help of a team of developers. Webflow is one such platform that allows non-developers to create professional websites without knowing any code. It joins others such as Pantheon, Weebly, Squarespace, and Wix in a hotly-contested low-code development market. While competition is high, so too is demand, with low-code platforms accounting for more than 65% of application development activity in 2024.

The popularity of platforms such as Webflow is perhaps not surprising, as low-code development is usually cheaper for companies to implement and reduces time to market. Webflow has been used by over 3.5 million designers and teams to create sites for companies including enterprise brands such as Dell, Rakuten, UpWork, and Petal. It raised a large amount of funding in a Series C round in 2022. This is being used to further develop its platform, with a longer-term goal of pivoting to providing a no-code tool not only for websites, but software development as well.
