Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on designing digital products for both responsive web and mobile platforms
- Proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
- Strong proficiency in Figma
- Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders
- Experience with designing for complex workflows and data-driven products is a plus
- Experience designing AI features is a plus
- Passion for mental health and a commitment to making a positive impact through design
What the job involves
- This role is crucial in enhancing the tools and functionalities that our therapists use to deliver exceptional care.
- As a Senior Product Designer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, elegant, and delightful designs that meet the needs of our providers and support the overall mission of Talkspace
- Lead the design process for our provider product, from research and ideation to prototyping and final execution
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize design projects
- Support product strategy, ensuring the product team is asking the right questions and solving for identified user problems
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gain insights into the needs and behaviors of our providers
- Create user journeys, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and other artifacts to help clarify concepts, aid decision-making, and build consensus
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design system
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and excellence in product design
Our take
Founded in 2012, Talkspace is an established name in the online therapy space, offering an appointment-free approach to mental health support. By providing unlimited access to a network of healthcare professionals, the platform delivers a cost-effective solution to underserved individuals in need of therapy, making mental health services more accessible.
Talkspace of course faces competition from other well-known brands like BetterHealth and Calmerry. But its IPO in 2021, and acquisition of relationship counselling platform Lasting, both showcase its solid presence in the space. It also continues to innovate, launching features such as Talkspace Engage which helps HR teams to foster workplace mental wellbeing.
In 2025, the company expanded its reach to 9.5 million military personnel and their families, further solidifying its commitment to making mental hearth care accessible to all. It was announced in 2026 that Talkspace will be acquired by Universal Health, a deal that is expected to close later in the year and that we will have to wait for more details on.
