Who you are
- We are looking for a strong background in industry strategy, research and advisory, analyst relations, and competitive intelligence, and demonstrated success in all areas of external communication and market analysis
- We look for hardworking people with phenomenal presentation skills, keynote experience, deep IAM technology market expertise and the capability to build consensus and influence senior executives
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an unstructured, collaborative, and remote environment is ideal
- Mandatory experience in designing, implementing or supporting programs in:
- Identity governance and administration (IGA)
- Role based access controls (RBAC), application identity security (AIS), application access governance, role and policy management Optional experience in application GRC, non-human (NHI) identities, AI security and cloud security is welcome
- Must have 10-17 years of combined experience in IGA and AIS/RBAC
- Must have 10 years of combined experience in consulting, Analyst Relations, Competitive Intelligence in the identity and access management space
- Proven experience as a subject matter expert in identity and access management, IGA and AIS/RBAC
- Proven experience as an Analyst or managing Analyst Relations programs and achieving favorable report placements is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to write and publish in-depth reports, analysis, or strategic content for both executive and public consumption
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with demonstrated keynote or comparable high-visibility presentation experience
- Experience driving large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research/analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success is required
- Strong leadership and excellent written/verbal communications to work with senior executives across various geographies and functions; comfort in business and technical discussions
- Strong influencing skills; able to build and drive extended and virtual teams, including sales, SEs, and product
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high- growth environment
- Master of Business Administration preferred
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, related subject area is appreciated or an equivalent experience
What the job involves
- As a Senior Director of Strategy, you will be a key leader in driving Saviynt’s market position through industry strategy, advocacy, analyst relations, and competitive intelligence
- You will leverage your deep market knowledge in identity and access management to inform strategic priorities, shape our narrative with leading industry analysts, and empower internal teams with world-class competitive insights
- This role requires phenomenal communication skills, the ability to create high-impact content, and strong cross-functional influence
- In this role, you will work on highly sophisticated problems, gain insight into the strategic issues which are at the forefront in the minds of the leadership team, have exposure to senior-level decision-making, influence product roadmap direction, and have the chance to create relationships with functions across the company
- Lead the development and execution of Saviynt’s industry strategy for a segment of identity and access management markets: IGA, AIS/RBAC, translating market trends and competitive dynamics into actionable recommendations for field teams, marketing, product management, as well as the executive leadership team
- Drive and manage all industry strategy content for the assigned market segments. This leader owns the content that feeds Saviynt’s Analyst Relations (AR) programs and operations, including content for briefings, inquiries, and report submissions (e.g., Gartner MQs, Forrester Waves), ensuring Saviynt’s story is accurately and favorably positioned
- Establish and lead a world-class Competitive Intelligence (CI) program for the assigned market segments, delivering timely, high-quality analysis and competitive sales enablement tools to sales, solution engineering (SEs), marketing and product teams
- Author, edit, and publish high-impact thought leadership reports, competitive analysis, and industry position papers that elevate Saviynt’s brand and drive customer and analyst perception
- Deliver phenomenal presentations, including keynote speaking at internal and external events, representing Saviynt’s strategy and vision to a global audience
- Work cross-functionally to structure problems, analyze opportunities, and work towards solutions and meaningful recommendations and results through a thorough, fact-based process
- Communicate effectively with and influence key stakeholders, including sales leadership, SEs, marketing, and product teams, to ensure strategic alignment and drive go-to- market initiatives
- Complete security & privacy literacy and awareness training during onboarding and annually thereafter
- Review (initially and annually thereafter), understand, and adhere to Information Security/Privacy Policies and Procedures such as (but not limited to):
- > Data Classification, Retention & Handling Policy
- > Incident Response Policy/Procedures
- > Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Policy/Procedures
- > Mobile Device Policy
- > Account Management Policy
- > Access Control Policy
- > Personnel Security Policy
- > Privacy Policy
Our take
Sayvint’s Identity Governance and Administration platform helps secure access to corporate systems in the cloud such as Workday, Office 365, AWS, Salesforce, SAP and Hadoop. It was created to offer an innovative, modern solution as its founder believed that existing identity services were not optimized.
By spending its early years in stealth mode, developing its product technology and switching to a cloud based model, the company was well prepared for a quick up-scale. This has been achieved partly because of the fact that it favours targeting large companies, boasting clients like Marriott, BP, KuppingerCole and Toyota Connected.
Sayvint faces a major rival in the form of SailPoint, which was an earlier entrant in the space, and went public sooner. However, Sayvint is growing rapidly and has converted some notable customers from SailPoint in the process. The company has continually invested in its platform to maintain a competitive edge, earning industry recognition along the way, and has recently concentrated on securing new customers and growing its partner ecosystem.
