Who you are

  • Professional accounting qualification with 2 years post qualified experience
  • Strong technical experience of accounting items including German GAAP
  • Familiar with international accounting standards and principles including IFRS & FRS102
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with Oracle/Netsuite an advantage
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to a changing working environment
  • Ability to find innovative solutions, lead change and drive continuous improvements
  • Experience in the Software / SaaS industry is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and German

What the job involves

  • AMCS is looking for a Regional Statutory Accountant to join the Finance team in the EMEA region (based in Germany).
  • In this role, you will be expected to coordinate and monitor the financial and accounting activities for Germany and its associated subsidiaries in other parts of Europe
  • You will work closely with the shared services teams in Ireland and the Philippines to drive global improvement whilst leveraging your experience and best practice principles.
  • The role will serve as the key connector between the region and other finance functions to ensure alignment of financial strategies and practices
  • As part of the Global Finance Team, the role is reporting to the Group Financial Controller in Ireland
  • Financial reporting and compliance:
  • Support monthly financial reporting, ensuring timeliness and accuracy to facilitate the preparation of consolidated financial results
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations for statutory reporting account codes
  • Proactively oversee and manage inquiries from local business partners, authorities, and government agencies
  • Financial guidance and analysis:
  • Provide practical guidance on local accounting practices/standards while reviewing and enforcing adherence to internal policies and finance standard
  • Working with the wider finance team to develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance the efficiency of financial operations
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact for regional financial escalations
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Alongside the Regional Finance Business Partner, conduct regular meetings with all stakeholders to review finance and operational topics and discuss operational issues
  • Promote culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Audits:
  • Complete the local statutory reporting requirements for the Group’s subsidiaries in EMEA, primarily Germany
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors (alongside share service teams in Ireland and the Philippines)
  • Oversee the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit
  • Liaise with internal finance business partners and external advisors on the completion of all ad hoc statutory accounting related queries
