Who you are
- University students seeking a Sandwich year/ Industrial Placement & working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a related technical discipline: Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Cybersecurity, etc
- Coursework with a focus on computer networking, Linux, computer systems, Python or other coding language preferred
- Ability to communicate complex technical matters both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Industry certifications are a plus: CCNP, CCNA, CCENT, CCDA, CWNP, CWNA, MCSE, CEH, Network+, Security+, A+
What the job involves
- As part of the London office based Solutions Engineering team, you will work to assist our pre-sales engineering team, who in turn will play a key role in kickstarting your career and professional development
- Through this program, you will be exposed to the full lifecycle of a project, from demos, proof-of-concepts, to the final decision
- You will build your technical expertise across a range of exciting and modern technologies, and become a trusted advisor for both our clients and partners
- The program will offer a mix of theoretical and practical parts across a variety of topics, such as Computer Networking, Electrical Engineering, Security Infrastructure, Cloud Technologies, and physical access control technologies
- Successful graduates will have the opportunity to apply for future Solutions Engineering roles, a highly sought-after career in technology
- As a Solutions Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be the bridge between Engineering and Technical Sales
- Master the Verkada portfolio, and design solutions based on customer requirements
- Support online and in-person platform demonstrations
- Assist with proof-of-concepts and site walks
- Collaborate with colleagues and product teams to test new features and devices
- Provide training to channel partners and resellers

Our take
Before Verkada stepped onto the scene, the evolution of video security was happening primarily in the consumer space. Home-security technology like video doorbells was becoming mainstream, but, ironically, enterprise security was lagging behind. Many large-scale companies were using outdated tech, creating problems for their security operations.
Verkada recognised that commercial security was outdated and backward, and began a mission to get commercial security up to date. The company provides clients with computer-vision cameras, using machine learning to identify security issues. Enterprise security is by no means a new market, but Verkada's success has come from its ability to recognise what large companies need and to provide up-to-date solutions. Its products have seen considerable uptake and major funding saw Verkada secure a multi-billion post-money valuation.
The company has recently introduced new ways to foster connections across teams. This has been done through their new 333 Program. The program aims to help connect teams as well as support local businesses. The company has also recently closed a further Series D funding round to help them continue driving towards their goal "to be the essential physical security software layer for every building".
