Who you are
- Your expertise in sales, dentistry, and AI technology will be essential in promoting and selling our innovative products and solutions to dental practices and organizations
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in sales with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
- At least 2 years of experience selling into SMBs, ideally in a new category or hyper-competitive industry
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed targets
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with customers, key stakeholders, and internal teams
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive sales performance and identify business opportunities
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools

What the job involves
- As the Account Executive (AE) Manager at Overjet, you will play a crucial role in building out our sales force as well as driving our sales efforts and expanding our customer base
- You will be responsible for hiring, leading and managing a team of Account Executives, developing sales strategies, and executing them to achieve company sales targets
- Monthly Quotas: We have a beat and raise culture at Overjet. You will be responsible for hitting, beating, and raising quarterly targets
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales development team. Set clear goals and targets, provide guidance and support, and foster a collaborative and motivated sales development culture
- Sales Strategy & Playbook: Develop comprehensive sales development strategies aligned with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs. Identify target markets, segments, and key accounts. Define positioning and competitive differentiation strategies to drive top of funnel
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dental professionals, and dental organizations. Understand customer pain points, requirements, and feedback to refine product offerings and enhance customer satisfaction
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, potential partnerships, and emerging customer needs. Leverage insights to shape sales strategies
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and customer success, to align sales efforts with overall company objectives. Provide feedback and input to internal stakeholders regarding customer requirements, competitive positioning, and market trends
- Sales Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management. Communicate sales performance, pipeline status, and key insights to support strategic decision-making
Our take
Overjet is a medical AI company that uses machine learning to analyze dental radiographs and uncover potential causes for concern in patients' oral health. Using data that quantify bone loss, tooth decay, and gum disease symptoms, the visually driven results help dentists and patients visualize their oral health status.
Whilst helping patients with their oral health is a lucrative business, dental insurance is in a whole different realm. In 2021, the dental insurance industry crossed the $80 billion threshold, and dental AI companies like Overjet have a large stake in this surge. Their AI tool, built and developed by Harvard dentistry graduates in 2018, is utilized by leading dental insurance companies in the US to help better value the type of insurance that their customers are eligible for.
This goes some way to explain how Overjet received Series A and B funding within just 4 months of each other in 2021. The dental industry may have been slow to embrace AI technology for practical healthcare purposes before Overjet and similar companies like Adra emerged, but the same products were quickly capitalized on by health insurance providers in the US. This double incentive for investors is a promising step forward for Overjet, which continues to forge partnerships with city and state-leading dental organizations and achieved impressive Series C funding in 2024.
