Who you are
- Candidate for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Human Factors, or a combination of the above
- Candidate has an interest in / passion for the Beauty category, specifically hair care
- Must be able to work full time, 40 hours a week onsite from July through December
- Must be comfortable and perceptive discussing experiences with people on personal and intimate topics such as their hair washing, styling routines, and other personal care experiences
- A consumer-first mindset when it comes to developing new products
- Solution-oriented and able to drill down to understand the root of consumer problems
- A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly-effective communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and in-person (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management)
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
- The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward
- Previous use of the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook) is preferred
What the job involves
- Conduct user testing with internal associates or external consumers to tease out feedback and answer team questions on latest prototypes and other relevant products
- Support in development of user-relevant design targets for product performance and user experience (human factors, touchpoints, KPIs, and Consumer Satisfaction Indicators) based on first-hand user testing – and act as the beacon of these targets to the cross-functional team of engineers, industrial designers, and commercial marketers
- Support Shark’s everyday business through the lens of the consumer journey to ensure a 5-star experience once consumers have our products in their homes. You will contribute to the product development process (optimization and management) of consumer-facing materials such as artwork assets, on-product messaging, out of box experience, and online content that supports self-service and ease in terms of finding product information
- Act as a product “expert” for cross-functional team member questions and concerns
- Support team needs with transport of samples to local user homes for testing
- Assist with new product setups and product information management, coordination of data/information for consumer research, development of competitive landscapes, and more

Consumer demand for new and better home appliances continues to grow. SharkNinja serves this demand by designing and manufacturing innovative home goods and devices. Specifically, it has a growing line of solutions that consist of Shark cleaning and home care products and Ninja kitchen appliances.
SharkNinja has been in operation since 1994, which is testament to the quality and popularity of its products. Since its initial launch in Canada, the company has expanded into the US and the UK. In 2017 SharkNinja was bought by CDH Private Equity for over $1.5 Billion, further proof of its impressive market value. Perhaps more evidence is that it brings in annual revenues of around $4B.
SharkNinja’s main challenge is facing down big-name competitors such as home appliance giant Dyson. In fact, through innovative design, it seized the market-leading spot in traditional vacuums from Dyson and is only second to iRobot in sales of robotic models. A 2023 IPO saw an extra $296 million in funding added to SharkNinja's pot and was followed by product launches in new sectors such as air conditioning and food cooling, indicating that the company is still full of new product ideas.
