Who you are
- A successful candidate is someone who seeks out information and details across many sources, isn’t afraid to go against the grain and is willing to pressure-test and implement new things with the intention of unifying Coalition’s remote-first contingent of employees
- 10+ years of experience working in internal and/or employee communications, preferably at global, high-growth companies
- Self-motivated communication with strong project management skills who can independently prioritize shifting workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading internal companywide meetings and events, including but not limited to strategic agenda building, executive communications and emceeing
- Exceptional collaborator with strong attention to detail and accuracy in all communications deliverables
- Excellent writer and verbal communicator
What the job involves
- Coalition is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Manager to spearhead the development and execution of strategies that enhance internal communication across the organization
- In this dynamic role you will be responsible for evolving the internal communications function at Coalition while also developing and implementing communications techniques to inform, engage and motivate employees
- You will serve as master of ceremonies for company all-hands and quarterly kick-off meetings and drive day-to-day communications best practices across all business organizations
- As the primary internal communications representative, you will collaborate closely with all parts of the business, including senior leadership and external stakeholders, but will give ancillary attention to the People and Talent teams
- We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and well-written as well as someone curious and creative enough to explore, develop and escalate key narratives to the Coalition team
- The Senior Internal Communications Manager reports directly to the Head of Communications and is a key member of the Communications and Content teams
- Develop and implement internal communications strategies, protocols and best practices that inform, engage, and align Coalition employees to our core values, business goals, and customer needs
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to craft clear, motivating communications around company updates, initiatives, and key milestones. Partner with External Communications and Marketing teams to ensure employees are informed of external happenings and announcements
- Drive employee engagement by creating content that celebrates Coalition’s culture, highlights employee achievements, and keeps teams aligned with organizational objectives
- Create and manage internal communications channels (Confluence, Slack channels, etc.) to ensure consistent and effective messaging. Seek out and propose new tools, processes and/or policies to ensure the flow of internal communications at Coalition remains congruent with the business
- Evaluate, manage, and mitigate internal communications risks through the development of communications and response plans addressing potential sensitive topics
- Lead the planning and execution of key internal communication events such as all-hands, quarterly kick-offs and large-scale company announcements, providing content creation and messaging support
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts, gathering feedback to refine strategies and improve engagement

This trend has emerged as more companies move to cloud-based networks following the increase of out-of-office work, thus increasing the risk of cyber attacks. However, many cutting-edge cyber defences are too expensive for many companies.
Coalition’s joint offering of cyber security tools, a risk management platform, and cyber insurance allows companies to manage the ever-present risk of cyber threats.
The company has made a strong start since its 2017 launch, raising nearly $800 million in funding. There are a number of other fast-growth startups in the cybersecurity space, including Wiz and Orca Security, but Coalition’s shrewd insurance-based model is what sets it apart from the competition. The company has set out on a path toward global expansion, branching out from the US and Canadian markets to bring its solutions to the UK, whilst also acquiring smaller competitors like JUMBO.
