What the job involves
- The Sales Commissions & Incentive Analyst is a critical link between Sales, Finance, and HR, responsible for designing and overseeing commission plans and incentive programs that drive sales performance and align with business objectives
- This role has responsibility for the end-to-end commission lifecycle, from plan modeling and contract creation to payout validation and performance reporting
- You will be ensuring there is transparency, accuracy and fairness across the sales organisation
- You will lead the optimisation of sales compensation structures, develop SPIFs and incentive schemes and continuously improve tools and processes to enhance operational efficiency
- Acting as the subject matter expert on commissions, you will deliver actionable insights through data analysis, manage stakeholder communications, and contribute to strategic decision-making through scenario modeling and ROI analysis
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Finance, and HR to define and update compensation structures
- Working with HR create a commission plan contract for the sales organsation
- Model plan scenarios to forecast potential outcomes and ROI of the commission structure
- Develop short-term and long-term incentive schemes to drive specific sales behaviors (e.g. SPIFs)
- Track participation, engagement, and effectiveness of all incentive programs
- Recommend enhancements or adjustments based on data insights and sales feedback
- Own the commission calculation and validation process using CRM and finance systems (e.g. Salesforce, Analytics, Excel)
- Ensure timely and accurate payout reports and dispute resolutions
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Provide detailed reports and dashboards on incentive performance and target attainment
- Communicate plan details and updates to stakeholders clearly and consistently
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for commissions across the sales organisation
- Drive automation of commission processes and reduce manual intervention
- Manage and enhance tools used for incentive management
