What the job involves
- As part of the Product team at Offchain Labs, you will get to work with leaders in the blockchain space solving novel technical, economic, and social challenges
- In this role you’ll work directly with leading application teams to improve their experience using Arbitrum technology and accelerate their growth through direct contribution
- You’ll also serve as an advocate and educator generally, interacting with the developer ecosystem online and in-person
- You’ll collaborate closely with our engineering team, third-party teams in the Arbitrum ecosystem, and company leaders, including our CTO and Head of Product
- Proactively identify, contribute to, and advocate for strategic partnerships with promising application teams, fostering an ecosystem of the most engaging on-chain experiences
- Own developer success across leading application teams in the Arbitrum ecosystem, working alongside builders to solve challenges involved in using and integrating with Arbitrum technology, and accelerating their development
- Work directly with the Product team to relay and incorporate feedback from projects and the developer community into our roadmap, and help shape the go-to-market strategy of new products, especially for the developer audience
- Work alongside our engineers to improve our tooling, from the Arbitrum SDK to custom tooling aimed at launching new chains, and assist with the creation of tutorials, demos, and other reference materials
- Represent Offchain Labs at developer events and assist with live coding sessions, speaking at conferences, virtual meetups, and hackathons, working with our Marketing and Events team to prioritize and attend key events
Our take
The Ethereum blockchain has seen a surge in activity over the past year or so - but, much to users' frustration, its transaction volume has failed to scale accordingly, leading to hefty gas fees and slow transaction times. Offchain Labs is one of a few players developing Layer 2 rollup solutions, and its Arbitrum rollup has gathered substantial momentum and support in a relatively short time.
Offchain Labs’ Arbitrum claims to offer all the benefits of a rollup - less costly, more efficient - without compromising on security. It is, at the time of writing, the only scaling solution for Ethereum that has working fraud proofs, and at the end of 2021 was dominating the layer 2 rollup market share.
This kind of high-profile and superior efficacy determines a successful blockchain technology. With Offchain Labs’ leadership pedigree and its string of acquisitions, it’s no surprise the company is leading rollup innovation efforts. This sector, however, moves at lightning speed—and the competing ZK rollups are by no means out of the picture just yet.
