Who you are
- At Catawiki, we are looking for a Junior Finance Business Partner who wants to develop into a strong, well-rounded Finance Business Partner
- This role is ideal for someone with 0–3 years of experience in finance, controlling, consulting or analytics who is ready to deepen their FP&A and strategic finance expertise and gain real exposure to senior stakeholders
- We’re looking for someone ambitious, analytical and eager to grow
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or similar
- 0–3 years of experience in FP&A, controlling, consulting, data/analytics or similar analytical roles
- Strong experience working in Excel or Google Sheets
- Comfortable working with large datasets
- Experience with Python/SQL (or strong interest in developing this skill) is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into business insights
- Comfortable working with different stakeholders and building effective working relationships
- Curious, proactive, and future-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- High attention to detail combined with a strong eagerness to understand the business
- Interest in data, automation and AI, and how these can improve financial processes and decision-making

What the job involves
- Whether you are at the start of your career or already have a few years of experience, this role offers a steep learning curve and clear growth trajectory
- You will first build a strong FP&A foundation by supporting different business areas
- As you grow in experience and confidence, you will take ownership of a specific domain and become its dedicated Finance Business Partner
- You won’t just produce reports; you’ll help drive decisions
- You will rotate across and support different areas within Commercial Finance (e.g. one of the Super Clusters, Tech, Customer Service, Marketing or Central Functions) to build a strong understanding of:
- Budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles
- Variance analysis and performance management
- Financial modelling (cost modelling, FTE modelling, KPI tracking)
- Business case preparation and investment evaluation
- Board and leadership reporting
- Cross-functional strategic initiatives
- This phase is focused on building strong technical FP&A capabilities and understanding how finance partners the business. As you develop, you will take responsibility for a specific business area and:
- Own its budget and forecast
- Drive performance analysis and cost control
- Challenge assumptions and highlight risks & opportunities
- Act as the finance representative in stakeholder meetings
- Support decision-making through data-driven insights
- You will work directly with senior stakeholders and help improve business performance
- Your Core FP&A Responsibilities:
- Alongside your business partnering responsibilities, you will contribute to company-wide FP&A activities:
- Supporting the quarterly forecasting and annual budget cycles
- Preparing monthly and quarterly performance reviews
- Contributing to board reporting
- Enhancing reporting dashboards and financial transparency
- Improving forecasting accuracy and modelling capabilities
- Supporting strategic planning initiatives

In the past, it was only possible to purchase special items such as rare coins, antiques, and vintage cars at auctions held at physical locations. These days, many people prefer online auctions, but whilst they provide a wider range of objects for sale, this comes at the cost of proper pricing and quality control. Catawiki provides an expert-regulated online auctioning marketplace where users can browse and bid for special objects easily via the web or mobile app.
The objects listed on Catawiki are curated, valued, and verified by in-house experts, with over 100,000 objects passing through the marketplace every week. In this approach, the company has combined the community knowledge found at traditional auctions with the benefits of digital auctioning platforms, occupying a space that has long remained empty, and avoiding competition from bidding marketplace giants such as eBay.
Catawiki has received good funding in the past, which contributed to it becoming the success it is today. A recent venture has seen the company expand to serve artisanal artists with its handmade products auction series.
