Role
Who you are
- You have at least 5 years of experience developing single-page applications, ideally with a well known framework such as React.js, Angular or Vue
- You breathe JS, in addition to being proficient in front end web technology (HTML, CSS,...)
- Ideally you have a good command of React, but it is not mandatory; we know that good engineers learn new languages and frameworks quickly
- You care about the product you're building and the problem you're solving, not just the technology you're using
- You take pride in choosing the best technical solutions to a problem with all constraints in mind, rather than chasing the latest shiny technology that isn't production-ready just because
- You have knowledge designing and developing new services, which scale with the highest level of security and performance
- You enjoy working in teams and appreciate modern development techniques such as code reviews, pair programming, high coverage testing, and automating things
- You like tough challenges, both product and technical, and like to contribute your insights
What the job involves
- Collaborate with the product team to design and develop the frontend of our cardiologists application using the React framework
- Carefully craft, design and Implement complex workflows and algorithms in Javascript, with performance and clean code in mind
- Interact with the backend team to define the API requirements and help with the overall technical product roadmap
- Support others in the company, providing technical help in your area of expertise, helping in documenting our system, refining our processes
- Our tech stack is in constant evolution as we grow and face new challenges; We live in the Cloud, use Terraform as infrastructure as code, and we orchestrate with a Kubernetes cluster
- We have a decoupled architecture, based on asynchronous APIs and services. We use high availability components that fit our regulatory requirements
- On the backend side we code in Python and C, with FastAPI for the APIs. On the front end side we use Javascript and Typescript with React
Our take
Joining the swathes of medical and scientific professionals embracing the benefits of artificial intelligence in medicine and healthcare, the founders of Madrid-based Idoven have extensive experience as scientific researchers for international healthcare institutions. The duo’s combined decades at CNIC and the European Society for Cardiology resulted in Idoven, a MedTech company focused on advancing technology for early-stage detection of and precision medicine for cardiovascular disease.
With notable backers including former Real Madrid football captain Iker Casillas claiming Idoven was “the artificial intelligence that saved” his life, the MedTech company has enjoyed a large amount of publicity since its founding in 2018. The company also partners with charities for vulnerable groups, such as people with Down Syndrome, to find early warning signs of cardiovascular problems. This successful marketing has helped Idoven achieve tens of millions of euros in grant, seed, and Series A funding.
With 2022’s 18 million euros and hefty grants from the European Innovation Council Fund under its belt, Idoven is developing and bettering its AI tech. A grant from EIT Health in 2023 will aid Idoven in its development of the first AI-based solution for the early detection of acute myocardial infarction.
