  • Extensive experience as a full-stack software engineer, ideally within B2B SaaS environments
  • Proficiency in ReactJS and NodeJS (or similar frameworks), with the ability to work across both frontend and backend development
  • A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, balancing technical excellence with efficient delivery
  • A DevOps mindset with practical experience in maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines to support the continuous delivery of well-tested software

What the job involves

  • Contribute to the whole development cycle - from architecture design to implementation and testing as well as maintenance
  • Prototype and iterate until the solutions are impactful and well polished, with a keen eye for user needs and technical performance
  • Take ownership of improving engineering practices, managing technical debt, and ensuring high code quality
  • Support the team with internal tooling, CI/CD infrastructure, data pipelines, and testing infrastructure to ensure responsiveness and speed of delivery
  • Help and collaborate with other engineers and product managers helping us manage debt, plan refactors and improve the quality of our engineering practices
  • You’ll also have opportunities to talk with customers and solve their problems directly

Our take

Carbon project developers often lack the tools to manage their carbon credits efficiently and at scale. Despite the crucial roles these projects play in offsetting emissions, manual workflows and fragmented data hinder their ability to maximise impact and revenue.

European startup BlueLayer offers a dedicated software platform for carbon project developers. It serves as a single source of truth for inventory, orders, and reporting, providing developers with data visualisation tools and revenue optimisation strategies. With a focus on a variety of projects like reforestation and peatland restoration, the company caters to a diverse client base.

BlueLayet recently secured substantial funding, demonstrating investor confidence in its mission, and has established connections with over 200 developers. Beyond managing existing projects, its future vision includes facilitating pre-financing and credit allocation as it aims to become a vital tool for navigating the complex world of carbon credits.
