Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of designing B2B software products that drive business impact
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers
- Experience leading hybrid remote teams is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma
- Familiarity with front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus

What the job involves
- As a Design Lead at Tive, you will play a critical role in shaping our product's design quality and strategy
- You will be responsible for ensuring we produce the highest quality product designs that not only meet user needs but also drive business value
- Your leadership will be vital in optimizing our design processes and frameworks, fostering an environment for growth among the design team, and contributing to design projects as a player-coach
- Design Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the design process from conception to execution, ensuring high-quality standards and consistency across all products
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Value-Driven Design:
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align design objectives with business goals
- Utilize customer insights to inform design decisions and demonstrate the value of design in achieving business outcomes
- Process Optimization:
- Develop and implement efficient design processes, frameworks, and best practices to streamline workflows
- Advocate for design thinking methodologies across the organization to enhance collaboration and innovation
- Team Development:
- Mentor and support the growth of junior and mid-level designers, providing guidance on design skills, career development, and performance improvement
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning within the design team
- Hands-On Contribution:
- Actively contribute to design projects, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs as needed
- Balance time effectively between team leadership and direct design contributions
- Proactive: Takes initiative in identifying design challenges and proposing innovative solutions
- User Centric: Understands user needs and advocates for the user experience
- Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and can pivot when necessary
Our take
Traditionally, shipment tracking has been complicated, unreliable and expensive. Tive’s platform allows businesses to constantly track and update their supply chain to enable a dynamic and flexible approach to international commerce.
Tive’s system is based around sensors that accompany shipments, allowing real-time product tracking with data uploaded to the cloud. This system allows clients access to location, shipment integrity and climate status, allowing businesses to better understand how their products are shipped. Since pairing with Skyhook’s location providers back in 2021, Tive has been able to vastly improve connectivity and enable such developments as the Open Visibility Network to integrate data shared between logistics providers, brokers, and customers.
Tive serves customers across the shipping industry, a huge market that is still on the rise, and projected to reach $4.2 trillion by 2031. This grants plenty of scope for further expansion, with the company already having clients ranging from consumer packaged goods, logistics, produce, and retail, including Alpine Fresh, Fastly, and Aviagen.
