Role
Who you are
- 5+ years experience developing solutions in Javascript/Typescript
- Experience at building consumer-facing web decentralized apps (Dapps) in React with a keen sensitivity to design, showcasing an eye for aesthetic and user-centric design principles
- Good knowledge of blockchain technologies (e.g. ethers.js, web3.js)
- At ease with design and architecture of software and systems (e.g. Design Patterns, Secure Software Development)
- Experience with agile methodologies and software development tooling and processes
Desirable
- MSc. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- React best practices and design patterns (MVC, Flux, Redux,..)
- Good knowledge of Starknet technologies, experinece with starknet.js
- Open source software and contribution
What the job involves
- You’ll work across two areas:
- Argent’s web-based products: Portfolio tracker - Easily track all your assets across Starknet! Web Wallet - set up a wallet with your e-mail, no seed phrase, no hassle. Argent X - the most widely used wallet on Starknet!
- Hito Studios, our new startup studio. We recently launched the studio in partnership with the Starknet Foundation with the aim of building and spinning out iconic consumer-facing projects. The studio will also accelerate existing, early stage Starknet projects with similar potential. We want Hito Studios to be a moonshot factory, radically changing crypto’s impact globally
- Across both you will work directly with our founders to bring transformative ideas to market
- Develop, design, and architect web-based applications
- Take ownership of an application development lifecycle and quickly ship features
- Ensure our software meets our strong requirements in terms of usability, security, availability and long term maintainability
- Build POC and MVP, i.e. work in an environment where product requirements are not fully defined
Our take
The public popularity of cryptocurrency is increasing, but the level of sophistication required is holding back mainstream adoption, and concepts like seed phrases and cold wallets have meant crypto has stayed mainly within technology-savvy communities. To open the space up to more users, Argent have created a smart wallet which feels more like logging into your bank account, where people can buy, earn, stake, and trade on Ethereum Layer 2.
Argent's pull is in its consumer-friendly, non-intimidating approach. It boasts low fees, high speeds, and quality security, alongside all the functions of saving, sending, borrowing, earning interest, and investing. Additionally, users can assign Argent Guardians in the form of trusted persons, third-party services, or hardware wallets, that can approve account recovery or untrusted transactions, but do not have access to their assets, instead of having to remember a key.
With the underlying wallet infrastructure in place, Argent has plans to build a Super App combining numerous DeFi and Web 3.0 features including virtual real estate, gaming, and NFTs. The company has seen growing demand from Latin America, and will begin expansion into the region with entry into Mexico.
