- Proficiency with modern product management, analytical, and engineering tools such as Jira, Figma, Trello, Looker, and Google Analytics or their equivalents
- A passion for news, media, journalism, or the relevant industry domain is a plus, contributing to a deep understanding of the audience's needs and market trends
- Experience managing digital products that monetize Personal Finance or similar content via affiliate marketing (preferred, not required)
What the job involves
- Business Insider is hiring a Senior Product Manager for our Personal Finance affiliate team
- In this highly visible role, the Senior Product Manager will focus on driving growth by creating value for our readers, optimizing performance metrics like conversion and clickthrough rate, and being a trusted partner to our business and editorial teams
- As the Senior Product Manager you will be the product owner responsible for driving value to our Personal Finance Insider product and business line
- You'll optimize current offerings, such as monetizing syndicated content, uncover new opportunities, and enable the business to capture them via product development
- You'll partner with engineering teams, other product managers, Service Journalism business leads, UXD experts, vendors, and merchants to serve our readers and help improve their financial well-being
- This role reports directly to the Director of Product for Service Journalism
- Lead and align the Personal Finance Insider product objectives and software development efforts while emphasizing constant value, improvement, and innovation
- Foster a culture of user-centricity, innovation, and data-informed decision-making
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and maintain a cohesive product vision and roadmap
- Drive transparency and alignment through cross-functional communication, ensuring progress and solutions are understood across the organization
- Collaborate in setting quarterly goals and define and track key product metrics
Our take
Business Insider - that entered the market at roughly the same time as fellow digital news and media names Buzzfeed, Vice, and HuffPost - has steadily and solidly built itself into one of the most familiar digital platforms for business, current affairs, finance and tech news.
Business Insider was founded by well-known trader and entrepreneur Henry Blodget and sold to German giant Axel Springer in 2015, which signalled an uptick in its performance.
